So I'm only using my distributor for the pickup that is inside it since I have the Autronic SM4 EMS and the Jetta 1.8T individual coils. Yesterday I took off the distributor cap and rotor to see if I can modify my current cap so most of the distributor cap is out of the way. If I hack it up and seal it off with silicone and a round plastic disk then it might look a little bad, but it will still mount and be the correct size. I've also thought about finding a clear plastic cup that is a hair over 3" and hacking it up, but then heat becomes an issue. I really want to get this bulky distributor out of the way. Does anyone have any ideas other than what I mentioned?

I think there's a manufacturer that makes a blanking-off cap for the distributor like what you want.

You should browse some on mr2oc.com, there's some people there that have it on their 2nd and 3rd gen 3S builds with EMS.
