I was going like 75ish on the freeway when my passenger rear tire decided to stop cooperating. I got lucky it was the rear and not the front. I was able to pull to the shoulder very easily. To make things worse, I couldnt put the spare on because the wrench wouldnt go deep enough to take the lug nuts on for some reason. Im thinkin the rim got bent and warped which didnt allow me to secure the wrench onto the lug nuts but not sure yet. what a downer!! AAA emergency roadside assistance rules though, had a tow truck within 20 minutes of calling them.

the rest of the tires should have close to 10k miles left in them. I got them on(kumhos) about 4 years ago and put a little over 30k on since. I thought it was supposed to get 40k miles but i'll check my papers again. If the rim is not bent, would I just need to replace the 2 rear tires? If the rim IS bent I'll probably have to get 4 new rims along with 4 new tires, for the safest route right?

It probably wouldnt take that much, I just said 75 cause thats how fast you were going. But even without a tire it would take a pretty nasty bump to bend a rim. Most of the time its from someone plowing over a curb or running over something in the road, like a decent sized rock or an ex-girlfriend.
But have it checked. It should be as simple as them putting it on the balancing machine without a tire. They can visually check for out of round with it spinning on the machine as well as see if the weight is off balance. But the possibility exists that the rim was bent beforehand, and the bend caused the tire to pop prematurely on you.
