Im almost positve that i have stock 8" speakers in my 95 gt 5spd with electronic contols/power windows. At least this is what i have been lead to believe from reading the other threads about speaker size and my own visual refrence of my own car.(planing on taking the panel off when get time to make sure tho). Hopfully its 8" and if its not o well.
My question isnt wether they will go in or not but rather how do they sound. Im not big on blasting my music and setting off car alarms in parking garages as i have my other friends to do that. lol I much more enjoy the sound of my engine. Being so i want an amp that will supply a decent amount of bass. I also am wondering if i should jsut use the amp for the sub, the sub and speakers (i would have the rear and the small one above the sub), or the sub speakers and tweeters? I was thinking if i run more then just the subs on the amp i should get two 250 or 300 watt amp and run one for each side of the car or just to opposite side speakers. But if im just running the amp for the subs alone jsut get one like 500 600w amp. Does this sound like a good idea? or is there a better way? Do i need a capaictor? Last but not least even if all this stuff goes into my car i want to be sure that it sounds good. How many 6gc owners can testify for the 8" subs sound/bass quality when mounted in the door. Ive also seen these plastic bowl type thigns that fit over the back of a speaker or small sub and allow it some protection from the ouside elemetns that may make their way on the inside of the door. They also allow for an enclosed space around the back of the speaker for better sound quality. Would a product like this work on my subs in helping them to retain the bass on the inside of the car rather raddleing the outside of my door? Wow that was a rather long post I really mean this: thanks to all who help me out as im kinda lost on this subject (if you didnt already notice lol) |
