Okay....I desperately need advice and I'm seeking it from people I know love these cars as much as I do. The difference is you guys actually own a sixth generation Celica.
I have finally found the car of my dreams. A '97 Celica Convertible GT. It is white with a black top. 31k miles. The asking price was 13k. Then a hail storm hit. Now they want 9k. The problem is everyone I know is telling me that the dealership is asking for too much- that I'm getting taken. Here's what's wrong with the Celica after surviving the hail storm. The windshield is completely cracked, needs to be replaced. The convertible top is somewhat damaged. The canvas is fine, the only problem is that the back window was detached from the canvas which let water into the lining. None of the actual interior has been wet...yet..but there is a slight puddle sitting in the area that holds the convertible top. The body has small dents all throughout from the hail. They're not too bad, but they are there. There seems to be nothing wrong with it mechanically, i know the battery has been replaced once and that they fixed something with the wiring. Whew. With all that said......what do you guys think? Is the asking price of $9,000 too much or a good deal? I'm torn because I really, really love this car. I've LOVED these cars for years. I'd REALLY appreciate any comments and suggestions. Thanks. ![]() VE |
