Alright, I bought the BGB for the car, and am planning this month to do a major tune-up on the car. She's gonna hit 150K in a couple weeks here, here's what I got. . . Any other reccommendations ? I did plugs, wires, o2 sensor and spark plugs about 12 months ago, so they should all still be good to go.
1. Timing Belt and Timing 2. Valve Clearance 3. All other belts (power steering & AC, etc) 4. Engine coolant flush and t-stat 5. New air filter 6. Clutch (mine is 95% gone, original) 7. Fuel Filter - Is it the same PITA as in a 5th gen ? 8. dry and fix flooded light 9. install 7th gen leather seats. 10. Coat underbody in anti-rust ****e. 11. bondo body and paint job, install body kit. 12. Water pump Think that should keep her ticking another 100K miles ? The car smokes on startup a hair which is bad valve seals, anyone think this is worth spending the money to fix this while i'm doing everything else ? I should be able to do all the 11 with my mechanic friend for ~1K. to take off the head you'll need a new HG, reseat the cams, and a whole lot more, which seems like a lot of work for some seals - how necessary do you guys think this is ?
