Hi guys,

I started planning for my CAI install (I haven't bought the parts yet - I'm just measuring everything up and seeing where things will fit so I can get the tubing custom bent).
Unfortunately I didn't get very far as I'd left my good tool kit at Mum and Dad's so gave up after a little while of not having the right tools. I hate havign crappy tools!.....

OK so the main thing I want to identify is this (in yellow):
IPB Image
It is some kind of box attached to the air intake. It has not other connections so I assume it will be fine to not have it there when I replace the intake. But I would just like to know what it is....
I also discovered that the ribbed section has split again kindasad.gif I only glued that up with silicone a few weeks ago.
Also, soo that little fitting sticking out on the left side of the intake pipe just near the throttle body? I only just noticed that it isn't connected to anything and is therefore suckign air straight in from the engine bay kindasad.gif

The intake air temp sensor mounts on the filter box. Will it be fine to relocate that to close to the throttle body when I install the CAI?

And whilst I was at it I figured I might quiz the knowledgable on some other parts that I don't have the best understanding of wink.gif

1. Line from the intake pipe to the valve cover.
2. The unattached fitting I was talking about.
3. No idea what this is.
4. The wierd box on the intake pipe from the previous picture.

My throttle cable has a lot of slack in it (you can see in the last picture). The adjustment point where the cable exits the sleeve is at maximum adjustment but it still has a heap of slack that causes the accelerator to stick sometimes when you first apply pressure. Any suggestions of how to fix that. I played around with where the cable attaches to the throttle with no success...

And one very last thing! I promise! According to specs I should have a drivers airbag. I was playing around behind my instrument panel yesterday (with the battery disconnected so I couldn't trigger the airbag) and decided to check out the airbag. I couldn't work out how to prise the centre of the steering wheel off but from peering through the side I couldn't see any airbag.
The SRS light on the instruments has never come on so after reading the repair manual I checked the SRS-IND fuse which is blown. I'll go and get a new one today but I'm still concerned about the lack of airbag...
The car has been in some kind of prang at some stage. I'm wondering if the airbag deployed then and they just pulled it out rather than replacing/fixing it.

That's all! Thanks for reading!

Zac
