Hello,

I have a 4-spoke steering wheel and am trying to fit the cruise control lever to it. Unfortunately, it would appear that there is a parts difference between the 4-spoke with and without cruise control lever.

I don't know what the part is or what it does but do have some pictures. It appears to be a damper for the airbag. It is a steel plate that is held in place with the large steering wheel nut and a small bolt and washer. Onto the steel plate is grafted two rubber bushes, the other end of the bushes are grafted onto lump of cast iron.

The steering wheel with the damper removed:

And with the damper in place:

You can't really make out the steel bracket in the second shot - I'll try to take some more pictures when my camera batteries are recharged.

The damper fouls the placement of the cruise lever - so there must be a slightly different version of the damper for cars with the cruise lever fitted.

Can anyone tell me the Toyota name and part number for this part? Or ideally, the equivalent part when cruise control is fitted.
