well the axle autozone gave me was obviously too short...
when i took a corner the cv joint broke and the result was a hole in my oil pan... hopefully only that and not the 3rd gen 3sgte block i have alkfjldjf..... it was horrible... my car sat parked with oil spilling out from under it. The trans is in the same spot and has not moved after the swap... i know this because the trans/motor mounts (front rear and driver side mount)are still the 5sfe mounts and thus the trans is mounted in the same place it was when it was mated to the 5s.... (yes im still using the s54 with an helica lsd unit from a c56/52 [mrs] with a hybrid clutch from spec) when on the lift with the suspension uncompressed the cv joint is obviously too short. the bearings are out of the cylinder thing where they are suppose to still be in. n e way.... i think autozone gave me the wrong axle... is it a posiblity that they gave me a camry or 5th gen axle that was too short?? im going to get a real axle for my car and compare the two on mon but thought id get some input from you guys thanks This post has been edited by urbandork: Aug 21, 2007 - 4:26 PM |
