Short Shifter installed into assembly, installing a 7 gen shifter, end part Options

This is sorta like the 2nd version of installing a short shifter. If your like me and need to read before doing anything than this could be pretty useful. I read the "TRD quickshifter install" guide but only to find out that the last part has little relevance to installing the short shifter into the assembly.

So here is are useful steps with a pic

So after removing the assembly out of the car, your wondering how in the world do i put in the short shifter.
Well what you need to do is to remove the pin (yellow circle to the left.) What i did was just put a flat head that would fit in there tighty and slowly knocked it out. You could pull the hollow pin with pliers once its halfway out or enough to grap onto. The other bolt is somewhat harder to remove, what you need to do is to remove the clip that holds onto the end of the bolt. What i did was i took a dremel tool and cut a slit, thus releasing the strength of the clip. That allows you to remove the bolt. You can now pull the side parts out and than its pretty much straight forward.



My shoft shifter set came with a new hollow pin, if you do get one you can use that one. There is nothing wrong with using the old one unless you horribly disfigured it. Now that the clip is pretty much useless, you can buy a retaining nut to hold the bolt in place. Hope this helps anyone trying to install a 7 gen shifter.
