 Gremlins in my Alarm |

As I was sitting at the table this morning enjoying my bowl of cereal over a fresh newspaper, my car alarm decided to let out three rather loud beeps of the horn. Then nothing. I looked out the window and saw no thieves nor animals (though I'm sure a cat would've taken off like a rocket).
The other day at work when I armed my alarm, it also let out three beeps and I wasn't sure if I had held the button down for too long and set off the panic function or not. I do have the stock toyota alarm in my car, but is this behaviour normal or is it indicative of a bigger problem? Also, my alarm doesn't always beep when I arm/disarm it. Sometimes I get beeps, sometimes I get silence. Any ideas?
