I'm selling my old ECLIPSE CD player that I've had for YEARS. If you don't know anything about ECLIPSE, they are made by Japanese audio company Fujitsu Ten. ECLIPSE decks were considered by audiophiles to be the pinnacle of car audio up until around 2007 (When they started mainstreaming and quality control was less than desirable). Prior to this, ECLIPSE audio equipment was only found in high end luxury cars and aftermarket equipment was VERY limited as to where it was allowed to be sold. At the time that they were well revered, ECLIPSE decks and speakers were incredibly expensive in comparison to most of the competition. They placed more emphasis on sound quality and manipulation than showiness.

The CD5423 was considered a middle class CD player in ECLIPSE's line and was over $500 new; this was before double-din CD/DVD players with screens had really come into use. The back of this unit has an incredible amount of inputs and outputs, just as many if not more than most higher end decks today. Being the simple fact that it is an ECLIPSE and that this deck has a 5V (5 volt) output to the speakers, it has a sound output that will put most of today's, even high end decks to shame. There are so many little adjustments in the menu I can't even explain. This is a serious audiophile's deck. If you want cool visuals, flashy lights, touchscreen, NAV or DVD options, I'd be glad to make some recommendations for you. If however, your all about sound quality and power, this is the deck for you.

I picked this deck up new some where around 2003/2004 and was pulled from my '91 Legacy Turbo about a year ago after I used the radio din for an FMC (Who needs a radio when you got an engine to listen to? tongue.gif ) Before the Scooby, it was in my 1992 Integra GS-R. It worked just perfect before being taken out of the Scooby but has not been tested since. It has been kept in a furnished, temperature controlled basement since it's removal and though I have no reason to believe that it will not still function perfectly, it is being sold as is. The only reason I'm selling it is that I have no more use for it. I thought about putting it in my the 6gc but decided do go a different route. This deck cost me over $500 new ... I just want it to go to someone who will actually appreciate it for what it is. It does show some minor signs of use but is in great shape for HOW much use it received. The deck DOES come with it's original remote and all original wiring. I will also throw in my iPod hook up I pieced together from RadioShack.

Note: For some reason there looks like there is some yellowing around buttons and dust in it. I assure you it's just the lighting. The dark parts of the deck have metal flake in them and the flakes are refracting the yellow light of the flash in the more shadowy parts of the head unit. The only flaws in the deck are that the silver paint is coming off a bit around the left knob.

Taking offers ... if I get a high enough offer, I'll throw in a 6gc wiring harness for it free.
