So to start. I have a 94 st. Exhaust and a short ram intake.

I let my car hibernate over winter, took preventative measures for its long sleep. fresh oil change, fuel additives. except! i didn't take the battery out. So as you can guess over winter, the battery was super toast. no biggie.

So this spring, I decided to bring er back to life and get er back on the road. This is where I run into some problems...

Knowing the battery was done, I still tried to boost it and see if shell fire up. no dice. I try maybe 6 times boosting it with my truck, nothing. Just the starter is trying to turn the engine over. When the car was hooked up to the truck, the lights would come on for a second and turn off. like all the lights. No radio, no power doors or windows. Weird. I just thought the batt was giving me hassles. OK, to the store I went.. The batt wasn't holding a charge at all, but wasn't frozen so i got warranty on the batt. sweet.

Go home, hooked dat shhee up and still nothing. Just the starter is kicking in with no power to anything else. super weird...I was beggining to think I had a fuel delivery problem or a no spark problem. It couldn't be though because before I parked it, it ran flawlessly. I do some research that leads me to check my fuses. Sure enough first one I notice is the 100amp alt fuse. Lets change that out. What a pain in the behind. YOU CAN"T JUST PULL THAT FUSE OUT!!! so I take the fuse panel apart (you will break things, but nothing important. Or I did it wrong) and figure out you need to unscrew the fuse from the bottom... after fiddling with that, success. alt fuse fixed. Tried to start the car, still nothing...

Ok, so I poke around at the other fuses, my EFI fuse was toast, changed that out. boom! She fired right up.. great!! But that still doesn't fix my lights, and radio problem..

To be more specific I guess, the radio wont turn on at all, neither will the clock. Gauges light up, climate control lights up. My head lights do turn on, but only my high beams are locked on, no matter where the switch is. The tail lights are still fully functional. Windows and doors are working now. The dome light also doesn't work.. I do some more internet searching...

I do another round of pulling fuses. I find out, Radio no.1 fuse was blown. changed that, still no radio. Cig&Rad fuse in the car is still good. wtf.. All of the fuses in the car are good, and out side the car seem to be good...I do some more internet browsing and come to the conclusion, the dome light is intertwined with a bunch of electronics. So sure enough, the dome fuse was blown. Changed that out, boom! I HAVE LIGHTS!!! everything is working and back to normal again! except the radio...

I didn't know this but there is a fuse inside them aftermarket head units, which i have. I took apart the dash console what ever, changed the fuse in the radio and I now have my radio back. YEY!

My verdict. or TL;DR

While boosting the car with no battery, I must have powered everything to much and blown a bunch of fuses.. Replaced in order ALT > EFI > RADIO no.1 > DOME > Head Unit Fuse... check yourself before you wreak yourself.

Hopefully, when the right person reads this, it will help them out...
