I want to replace the inner seal only - so not to buy the kit. Anyone knows the exact width and material of the OEM seal in the original distributor?
I took apart several distributors at the junk yard, all of them seem rebuilt - and the seal thickness varied! Do they put in a thinner one to save? Also, do not want to use the cheapest seal and get a leak soon - the amount of work involved warrants a good quality seal. For example, the OEM outer ring is brown and seems to be made of something else than the regular nitrile rubber. So - what is the right OEM thickness of the inner seal and what would be the best material - nitrile or may be viton? Anything else? Thanks a lot! |
