I was kind of wondering the same thing myself.

Wait, it just hit me. The radio is 52W(or somewhere in that ball park) per channel. Where as the tablet doesn't have a powered output, nor multiple channels. Probably has it to where the headphone out of the tablet goes into an auxiliary input on the radio. One way to work around that would be to use a 1/8" stereo to RCA adapter on the tablet out to a 4 channel amplifier, then out to the speakers. Personally that'd be my route of choice.

Nice, but i agree that radio relocation is totally unnecessary... he should route the signal from Nexus to an amplifier and still keep the air vent...

I went a different way when I did mine, I think tiga got to see it.

I relocated my radio to the glove box, added a infrared repeater to be able to control my radio without opening my glove box.
relocated the mic from the tablet to the pilar, relocated the GPS antenna from the tablet to the roof of the car. and installed the tablet in the factory radio location.

I'll upload a video of it later today.

at the time of the video I still had the cigarette lighter charger, but the plan was to hard wire it with a fuse inline, but never got to, car was totalled before I got to do that.

the radio is used as an amp, if you can see AUx AUX, he is smart. so, unless you want to listen to the nexus speakers. or blutooth a jambox, or headsets. that was a cheap alternative
