2nd Gen 3SGTE - complete (probably missing EFI reistor pack - most due). includes MAP, MAF, Turbo, Trans, Complete harness, Igniter, Coil, etc etc,

Asking $1300 plus shipping

3rd Gen 3SGTE - Motor, IC, Turbo, complete harness, ECU, Trans.. and thats about it... missing MAP, Coil, and Ingiter for sure, most likely missing important parts of the w/a intercooler system as well. best bet is FMIC

Asking $2000 plus shipping

Both motors have approx 40,000 miles on them.

Shipping will be around $400 range to contiential US

It will take him a moment to realize that he's about to make a 180 degree turn at speed, but you will be ready for it. Brace for the g's, and fast heel-toe work.

I would pass a stone for that third gen engine. frown.giffrown.giffrown.giffrown.giffrown.gif

So, let me get this straight: If I bought the engine, I would need a FF transmission and the wiring done (by you) plus piping and such for the FMIC i would need, and a way to bolt up a down pipe. That gives me a running 3s, correct?

incorrect. as mike stated it is missing the MAP, Coil, and ignitor. im not sure what else would be necessary as i havent done the swap, but those are essentials.

DG -

my email address is mike@topshelfracing.com feel free to email me or AIM is qatar11

Wiring prices are $400 for ST185 -> 6th gen celica.

And yes the 3rd gen motor is missing a lot of essential pieces... but my importer had it on his list so i wanted to post it... the W/A intercooler will not work becuase it is most likely missing the W/A ECU, the water pump, the heat exchanger, etc..

So, if I bought the 2nd gen engine, I would need a transmission and the wiring. Am I right there? I don't suppose it would include the motor mounts would it? I wonder if an automatic 5s transmission would be suitable. (I have an auto right now and the manual swap would be .... painful)

5SFE Automatic transmissions are not compatible with a 3SGTE engine. you would need trans, mounts, shifter linkage, powersteering stuff, drive axles.. and a few other things.

A manual swap isn't all that painful, I'm going to write a "How To" on it when I get mine done in a couple weeks. The prices for the 3sge tranny runs between 250-400 depending who you go with. As for the other parts such as cables, cylinders, pedals etc... it should run you around another $200-$300. Save your pennies!

Edit: Work if you have someone to help ya that knows about cars, it should only take a few hours to do it, like I said, I'm going to write a "How To..." for the archieve to help those that want a MT but only have a AT. biggrin.gif Wish me luck! LoL!
