Has anyone else considered mounting the cruise control actuator somewhere else? Below is what I have to work with..haha. I thought about cutting a hole in my custom airbox and mounting it sideways in there. Other than that I have that big gap area around the distributor and behind the intake piping, but I would need a shorter cable running to it from the firewall. What do you guys think?

Haha let me know if you figure something out because I just got rid of my actuator for my swap.. roger... it's smaller than it seems once it's taken off of the metal mount that went under the battery tray. It's small enough for me to mount to the top of my turbo intake pipe, but I didn't want weight sitting on it and I couldn't get it to mount sturdily on a round pipe. -------------------- -Jay

you could mount it on the passenger side like the ST has it. just extend the wiring Oh yeah, there is a nice little gap over there between the coolant filler neck and the power steering reservoir. Anyone have pics of the 7a setup? I would also need the cruise control cable from the 7a ST though wouldn't I? -------------------- -Jay

you can mount it pretty much anywhere the cable will reach without kinking.

The cruise control on a ST is located where the Power Steering Res is located. Shown below. Would be an interesting mounting, but I'm sure feasible! |

I am most definitely doing it, I'll just need to buy the cruise cable for a 7a celica and run it over to that side. The cruise cable for the 5s definitely won't reach. I don't have ABS so I have plenty of space for it.

I re-mounted mine. Made a custom bracket for it. You can see it here in this picture. It's above the air filter, and to the right of the
blow off valve. -------------------- |

haha..at both of you. Yes that is very crowded. Unfortunately I made a battery mount there, as you can see in the side of my picture above. You mounted yours in the trunk I imagine? -------------------- -Jay

I relocated mine near the clutch master. Although there is very little clearance, it doesn't touch or rub on anything there. Uses the original GT cruise control cable. Only downside is not being able to run the plastic cover with it. I've had it like this for a few years now, and works great. No trouble with cable kinking at all.

I'm glad it fits, I can easily move the alarm horn somewhere else and put my cruise control there though. My cable will kink for sure, it has a bad spot in it that may make it kink. Is the wiring easily accessible from there to shorten it? Or does it run through the main loom to the passenger side? -------------------- -Jay

Hmm, it's been awhile, but I'm pretty sure the factory cruise control wiring is run down the driver side, so it should be very simple to get the wiring where you need it to be. -------------------- |

I think there is a bundle of wires with a yellow wire channel around them on that side. I'll look tomorrow. -------------------- -Jay
