I am talking to TechnoToyTuning, the same ones who made the tie rod flip kit about making extended ball joints. The tie rod flip kit was meant for the MK1 MR2 but fits the 5th gen celica. If the tierod and ball joints of the 5th gen also fit the 6th gen, this would be a solution for your guys as well.

They say if we can get 10 people interested, they can make something similar to this for much less. He expects around $140 for the ball joint and the flip kit is around $70.

Note the final design will be different from this one.


We currently have 6 people interested at alltrac.net so if anyone here is also interested please let me know. Or if you can verify the 5th gen parts fit the 6th gen.

I think this is a great upgrade and benefits cars with cars with mcpherson suspension. Especially u lowered guys with coilovers. How about a setup like this for the rear suspension. I know the mk2 mr2 guys have a kit like this. Both front and rear kit for mr2 are around $300

We might be able to get something made for the rear if we can get the fronts made. The fronts suffer more dramatic issues than the rear, so that will be priority at the moment. The harder part for the rear will also be two separate group buys. I don't think the AWD and fwd guys will be able to use the same for the rears.

So with this mod is to get the suspension to work at 100% as if u never touchrd the height of the suspension?

Intersting.. sure im just let me know the total.
I would be more interested in a adjustable rear camber bar though.. haha
If nobody can make them i guess ill make something like the toe bar amd make it adjustable. They are on negative camber and the camber bolts are not enoughh to bring the wheels close to 0 camber.

Why don't you just get two toe adjustment bars on there? lol
Even if you have two, you can still adjust the toe, but you could also adjust the camber too

Last time i check i think they looked different so it might not fit. Ill double check again

Yes i know.. thats why i said close to 0 im at -3.5. But lets not talk about camber anymore, lets get back to the thread lol.

Lol just get them to make a dropped spindle. It would be a totally stock spindle(where it mounts to the strut, balljoint and tie-rod), except it would have the hub mounted a few inches higher.
I keep wanting to get some for my 64 chevy, drop spindles are usually available for trucks and old cars. You essentially raise the wheels a few inches closer to the car and thus drop the car while retaining a stock suspension.

You don't want to drop the car any more than it already is. you want the control arms to be closer to level and retain the same wheel placement.

This is different than drop spindles.

Exactly. I'm not talking about lowering it more.
Put all the stock parts back into the car, so the geometry is unmolested. THEN, put drop spindles on so you are as low as you want without a wacked out suspension.
With dropped spindles the factory control arm, tie rods, spring and strut will function normally.

the MRP kit has several options, are they also available in the TechnoToyTuning kit?
how much is the lowering (multiple Options?) and is there an option for camber upgrade?? Like the MRP kit.

I am now working on this, and have compared a Corolla AE101 ball joint with the AT200 ball joint.
they are 99,9% the same!
for 100% I will have to mount it first!
so that means that the corolla AE101, AE111 and Celica T20, T23 Mcpherson are all the same!


I definitely want something like this!
but it should also be good quality, because I use it on track!!

nice to see MRP getting out there. Comes from a New Zealander who makes a lot of stuff for his corolla and others (which has a 7A-GTE, now working on a 9A-GE)
