http://youtu.be/681GLfrZeZA Here is the video link for Bobby's first day running. We've had to knock out several issues. Bobby can elaborate on these, but all I'll say is: A: I can replace a timing belt in 20 minutes B: I hate aftermarket alarms C: I've gotten really good at wiring I do believe you have a boost leak ^^ Sounds good though! Please elaborate on your timing belt change! Do I smell a how to? Anyways, it's always a heart warming feeling when you turn the key and a rumbling occurs! Good job! I am jelly. That's a great looking car and a proper engine bay.

I'm actually nervous about making a timing belt how to. I feel like despite the best pictures someone would still **** it up lol!!!
I'm actually debating on whether or not I should make a wiring how to for the ST folks out there. -------------------- |

Thanks Guys and Thanks Ben for not only posting and getting this thread up and running again but for all your dedication. Today was seriously one of the happiest days of my life lol (i know pretty pathetic). BEN DOES NOT STOP, dude deserves some kind of medal. Every Sunday i can expect a text message at 8am saying he's on the way. He's dealt with my inexperience, idiotic questions, and not to mention my horrible organization. Thats not to take away from Alex and Sam. Each of them had their own projects but took a HUGE amount of time out of their lives to help me achieve this. They each have a set of skills that they can bounce off each other to figure **** out. Anyway more to come!. Cant wait to drive this beast!

Well didn't want to update till I was driving it daily...Just waiting for parts and working out all the kinks and little things...Without the guys, everything takes me twice as long having to learn it by trial and error...I really was hoping to be driving by now but power steering was giving me trouble...
What's left is installing PS pulley, connect the rest of the vacuum lines and hook up the gauges...the pulleys gnna be a bitch but tomorrow I finally have the day off... |

Alright Guys She is up and running like a top! I went to Bens yesterday running no boost and left spinning tires lol. He fixed my boost problem as I connected my synapse wrong. Shes absolutely everything I had in mind and more. After we tightened the couplers down so they'd quite popping off, Its literally hard to go slow! Im only running about 7 psi because Im still breaking in the engine but its a blast for sure. Ill get pictures up soon but I have to head to work.
Man its nice to know all that money, time, and effort paid off. Kinda bittersweet though in some ways. |

BAD NEWS UPDATE
Well while driving on the highway in heavy rain going about 45mph my transmission **** the bed . I heard a loud drop and pulled over. Drove about a mile to shelter and everything looked good. I figured I had just hit a big bump and i freaked out over nothing, but after another mile it started shaking and eventually locked up. After towing her home, I put the car up and started it. It sounded like it could have been my axles but after taking them out, the transmission would still make a loud grinding noise when the car is in gear and the clutch let out. The Clutch looks good as well as the pressure plate and flywheel. I dropped the E153 off at a transmission specialist but I wont know anything until probably thursday, sense tomorrow is a holiday. Man it was driving sooo good, I've been having such a blast! and this happens. This post has been edited by TwistedCeli94: May 28, 2013 - 9:25 AM |

How much fluid drained out of the tranny when you were removing it?

well surprisingly, it didn't look like a lot of fluid came out. However I put like 4 quarts of oil in or however much it called for and I have not seen a single drop of oil leak out.

may have leaked out when the axle popped out the first time. may have dried the transmission up, and locked it up.

The transmission will cost close to 2 grand to rebuild so thats a big N O on that one. Been looking for an e153 from a solara or camry and stumbled across one for 330 bucks from LKQ. Its from a 2000 solara v6 with like 150k miles on it. I swear I must be the only one with this bad of luck. It always seems to happen at the worst times too. I really hate buying used parts now.
