Okay guys I have a 94 GT with a 5 speed manual trans. Well i'm ready for an engine swap or a change sooner than later, maybe a turbo?
How difficult would it be to do a 3sgte swap? would I have to change the axles or trans?

I'm looking at total cost and labor if I handle most of it.

In before the V6 vs 3S argument!

We can't really tell you what engine you want. That's totally up to you, whether you want N/A or boost, what your budget is, future power goals, etc. You can do a V6 swap on a reasonable budget, but you will be limited in how much extra power you can get out of the engine later. Or for more money, you can swap a 3S-GTE in and get more power out of it pretty easily. Both are good swaps, but we can't tell you which one best suits your needs. You can use your S54 trans and axles for either swap.

Cheap and simple for now, something I could possibly throw an automatic tranny into to shut the wife up about not being able to drive the celica because she refuses to learn to drive stick and she loves the car.

Well if you're looking to go with an Automatic, I'd say 1mz-fe because most of them are already auto.

That. It'd be easy to find a wrecked Camry or ES300 to harvest.

The simplest swap to do with an auto trans will be a v6 but its yet to really be done so you'll be kinda in a learn as you go mounting wise
You'd be best to use the trans that came with a v6 if you go with a v6 or 3s since it can handle the extra power.
Best of luck to you
Could just buy your wife a auto st lol
