Yup! On the 1mz with vvt-i out of the Avalon! The only thing I have to worry about now is the TPS because the DTB has a 3 wire TPS compared to the STB which has a 4 wire TPS. But it should be simple to figure out. I believe you just have to create some sort of switch for when you're at WOT.

So what's expected from this swap? More top end power?

This reminds. I remember reading somewhere that you can swap a 5sfe stock intake manifold to a 3sge intake manifold?

Thanks. Probably so, it's been a year or so since I've waxed it now. Haven't washed in months either now that I think about it. Clear-coat is peeling on the driver quarter and started on the passenger side, so I just don't care anymore. I tried everything to keep it from getting worse to no avail. Duplicolor doesn't make my colour in their "Perfect Match" line of products, so only choice is a full respray. I hate red, so I'm not doing that. Cost too much to do a full body colour change. So that leads me to:

Decided I'm just going to sell the Celica and buy a Trans Am/Z28(NOT IN RED) after my brother gets his car straightened out. Deep down at the end of the day it's what I really want. I'll stick around I suppose, I know everyone would miss me too much. tongue.gif

Today I realized how great this forum is. I have a friend of my wife bringing by her good ol Dodge Magnum, which I volunteered to replace the passenger side mirror assembly. After looking for about an hour and a half on forums/you tube, I came to the conclusion that other car forum sights just plain suck. They are filled with people who give half assed directions with no pictorials to help. "Remove this clip here, turn at a 87 degree angle, sacrifice you neighbors pet and pull in a general south east direction"...thats about what I get. I just want to reflect a bit and thank the people here who take time to actually put together complete instructions (with pics) for everyone else to benefit from, even if they are not members (ie random google search).
Now, on to the work at hand.....

I found this part extremely funny and I can relate.

Today, I bought 2 new hubs, bearings, seal kits, and snap rings for the front end to go along with the new ball joints and inner and outer tie rods I purchased on Monday; I figure that if I have to replace the driver's side hub and wearing combo I might as well do the passenger side AND refurb the front suspension while I'm at it.

Needless to say, my wallet is bearing the brunt of it all. kindasad.gif

Haha I'm not even sure yet. I know what I want to do, but I'm going to be keeping this build a secret. It'll be documented pretty well though.
I'll give you one hint, I have the 1mz and a awd transmission.

As far as the 5s IM to a 3sge IM, I have not a clue kindasad.gif

AWD Twin Turbo V6 perhaps?

Today i have a dilemma... Should i go for a V6 or Turbo a fresh 5SFE? Money is not an issue here but i'm having a hard time deciding after weighing all my options. Anyone want to chime in and help me make up my mind? It's also kind of tough since i don't want to give up my Greddy SP2... laugh.gif

I know a guy that replicated the kit and uses an MP90 for it instead tongue.gif ...and he has a CNC'd piece for the DTB to work with it hehe.

Its got to be TT awd. I mean two intake throttles + two exhaust pipe = twin turbo!

It'd be hard to get all that in there, but we'll see. Just taking it one step at a time right now.
So that'd be a 1mz-ftte? or 1mz-fttze? lmao

Yes, here is the dual throttle body in my old RX 300.

The only benefit I can see is smoother airflow, considering its a single intake into two small throttle bodies and back into a single intake manifold.
