QUOTE (richee3 @ Sep 18, 2013 - 10:06 PM) *
Headlights are perfectly adjusted, radiator cooling panel is installed, new radio is all set up. Throwing the new ball joints in tomorrow then we are officially ready.

your going to have to show Kurt how to adjust the head lights. The ones on the blue celi are off

It's super easy. There are two alignment screws that stick out the back of the headlights. I believe they are 8 mm. One adjusts left to right, one adjusts up and down. I can't remember which is which on the USDM headlights. I always park near a building/wall so I can see how high or low the light is compared to the headlights, then pull out somewhere where I can see the light output on the ground to do my fine tuning.

QUOTE (Keiri @ Sep 19, 2013 - 5:01 AM) *
I'll also be attending this how-to/tutorial, Mr. Richey. smile.gif

Same as above, Brian, but I can tell you more specifically. You'll need the 8 mm socket and adjust the upper screws for the up/down adjustment.

Aaaaand the air conditioner developed a leak. I'm not entirely sure I want to spend 36 hours on the road in a car with no air conditioning so we may be coming up in the 350Z. It's up in the air right now. We'll probably decide at 5 in the morning when we leave.

If it was just me and looking ahead at the weather forecast , I'd drive the whole way with open windows regardless of if my a/c worked or not. But the girlfriend is coming with me so it's gotta be a/c. I'm toying with the idea of buying a few recharge cans and filling up as necessary. Ghetto fixes ftmfw.

It's always the last minute stuff that threatens a good time.

Good luck and best wishes on the decision - I'd love to see the Celica in person but just meeting you and Brigette means no matter what car you take your attendance will be welcomed, sir.

Daniel its not as humid over this way and the farther north you go. Your headed towards the coast so it will be nicer. Tell Bridgette to suck it up...lol we didn't come all that way to help break the Celica for you not to bring it!!!!!!

oh yeah and the boots that were ordered are complete and packed. So there is red, purple and green just waiting. I hope you guys like them. And I personally installed ours and Daniels ebrake boots so those of you that are curious can see what they look like

We picked the ghetto solution. Keep filling it up as necessary and fix it when we get home.

Son-of-a bitch. I must have bumped the seal when I was putting the axle in. I think it's got a leak. frown.gif ugh!

I'm still coming. I'll just have to fill it before I take off back home. Looks like I'll be changing the clutch soon then. I don't feel like dropping the axles out again and wasting all that fluid for a seal change when I'll just have to do it AGAIN when I change the clutch. That being said, *sigh* I don't know how to do a clutch/have the tools or garage for it. (I'm limited to a apartment driveway/carport) frown.gif

Anyone know what this would cost to get done at a shop? I'm going to call my mechanic that I have do my alignments and stuffs that I don't have the tools for (like pressing bearings) and get a quote Monday, but I was kind of hoping for a heads up.

I may have to bring more stuff to sell lmao. Anyone need a fuse box, coupe tail lights, or a evap canister?

Don't go to toyota, they wanted to charge me $900 for the job...
You dont need any power tools, just 1/2 and 1/4 sockets and having an extra person would be handy. You can easily get it in and out in a day if you started early enough.

very doable in one day, even if by yourself and as a first timer. if you lived closer, I'd help out in a heart beat.

So if my friend James has the time, we could knock it out you think? He's done plenty of VW clutches. I've got lots of tools, just no experience and I don't have a engine hoist or anything. He's got one of those though. But I hear you can just undo the mounts and tip the engine to drop the tranny out.

Any advice on taking the axles out that are new? The old ones I just ripped apart and grabbed the inside of. (Well the driver side one fell out like a limp wiener)

Also, it's cheaper and more beneficial for me to drive somewhere (even if it's 6+ hours) to learn how to do it, than pay a shop.

Buy a clutch bring it with to Manny's problem solved lol
If your wanting to stay stock
I got a basically brand new clutch disc (200mile on it before motor was pulled for the v6 swap ) it can be done fairly easy by just dropping the trans just let the motor hang on the pass side mount an a jack an slide it out
