just dropped my rebuilt 2nd gen 3sgte in today. wired everything up. the main relay is clicking and the alternator light is blinking when the battery is plugged in. it stops on the acc mode. no start either. im supposing it has something to do with the ignition switch/starter. any help is good help!

Is there power @ the starter with the key in the "start" position?

Either you forgot to fully plug in EA1, or your forgot one of the grounds. There is a small ground wire at the back of the intake manifold that people often forget.

i have a wiring diagram, but do not follow where ea1 is "inside r/b no. 2"? i have the ground for the mainfold. it is weird. i can shake the first section of the fuse box in the engine bay and the clicking will stop. i can then turn the key and the fuel pump kicks in..

No power to starter

EA1 is that huge plug that connects to the bottom of the main fuse box. You have to make sure the locking arm is locked in place and the connection is solid. Since you said you can make it go away by shaking the fuse box, then it sounds like this is your problem.

This thing...

Figured that's what it was. Now everything is correct, but nothing cranks. Ignition off works acc is good and fuel pump turns on at ignition on... Guess I gotta check ignition to starter.

You need one ground to the tranny and one ground to the chassis. Hook it up exactly how Joe and I did it on the old motor.

Ok so my starter was messed up. Made some new grounds. Car cycles through the ignition cycles and starts... But dies. Smells kinda funny. My boost gauge reads constant zero. So vacuum leak, ignition timing, mechanical timing?

my swap started up today there was a milky mixture in the radiator... any common places where lines might get crossed?

for starters the oil line is on the bottom of the turbo and the top line feeds into the water neck...

i cant get a good picture of it. but the ct26 has three spots for lines to run off of. the bottom line is for the oil. one is capped and the one on the top next is for coolant.

trying to figure out where i might have crossed lines. oil filer area? idk.

oil was in coolant and vise versa.

car did not over heat.

it idles high too around 3k.

guess i should do a compression test too.

any good input is appreciated.

Would it be a probable issue?
