Well guys its hard for me to say this but I think its time for me to take a break from 6gc.
There's been a lot of "talk" about the 1mz vs the beams here for awhile and I feel like I'm in a losing fight that I wasn't even trying to have between 2 motors I really like. I remember when I joined it didn't matter what motor you ran or what you done to it everyone respected you for it an would do what they could to help you make you celica better. I feel like we've all lost sight of this an are too focused on trying to say what's best for everyone an the rest isn't worth doing. Not saying I'm never coming back or I'm selling the cars or anything like that. I just think its best to take a break while I want to come back rather than wait till I don't want to. I've met many great people her that I am proud to call my friends celica or no celica. This site has taught me a lot an one day I hope I can do the same for it. I'll probably be back after winter with a whole bunch of updates on the 1mz. If anyone needs me I'm on the 6gc Facebook page. Pm me on Facebook or text me if ya got my number Sorry for the sob story post. Just feel like its something I had to say Thanks for reading Kurt95gt -------------------- 95 gt coupe, v6 swap weekend toy

No.....wait....what??
It's your ride-- do as you please!! I have no clue on beams 1mz etc transplants. Do what makes YOU proud of YOUR accomplishments!! Its kinda like the Bigblock vs LS thing on another forum. Its about your desire....go for it.... be proud.... |

We are not doubting the 1mz. We are just simply tired of everyone else putting it down and no one has ever ridden in one to see how it actually is. We are asking that all the crap talking stops till those who are talking have experienced all the possibilities. The best philosophy is never doubt what you don't know. Those who doubt it now it will come around to bite them in the @ss.

^ Are you saying there are ramifications for those who express doubt? That doesn't make sense. Skepticism is healthy and fosters progress. Unless there's a specific thread I missed I don't see any "crap talking," just the same opinions of engine preference spouted over and over again (kneel to the 3S, muahahaha...).

Kurt dont leave, done give in the the nay sayers, thats what they want. we are members of an elite club. haters are gonna hate. the V6 Vs BEAMS thread is a prime example of what your wife said. they have never ridden in one and have nothing to base it on.
I have never ridden in a BEAMS swap but i have driven a 3S-GTE swap at 18 psi and it freaking hauls ass! you dont need to take a break from the site. This is the internet. it allows for everyone to express their opinion and they do. you cant get upset over what one person says. im certain i have ruffled a few feathers here. -------------------- 2001 Celica GT-S Turbo

While I'm pretty sure the BEAMS is right for me based on ease of installation, I don't view either as better than the other. It's personal preference. You chose the V6. I support that and can't wait to ride in it. I always liked reading into your progress. It's your decision to stay or leave, but either way, I wish you the best.

Kurt, talk is just talk.
You are the only one who has actually done the 1m swap yourself, that's big. All the Beams vs V6 talk came because of Justin posting memes on Facebook about how the V6 is sooo much better than a Beams. Keep in mind, he's halfway though his swap at best, basically he's talking out his butt. Then Smaay was adding to it and I disagreed. Trust me, I wanted to put a 1m into my Rav, but I couldn't find a motor I was happy with and after I did the math the Beams was cheaper for me to swap into it. Don't see all of this as disrespect. I'm very proud of my car and I let you (and other people) hammer on it. Any opinion I have is just that, an opinion. The best chance I have right now is Justin (lives 2 hours away from me) finishes his swap and he and I put any opinions to fact. I'm dying to drive and feel a V6 in a Celica, I've been almost obsessing about it since the meet. In fact, I've had the itch since K-ESD had tweek do a 3mz swap for him years back. This isn't about you or disrespect. You should be the biggest defender of the 1m, you're one of the few guys on the board that's actually driven one in a Celica. -------------------- |

I have driven in Celica: 7afe 7afte 3sge (3gen) 3sgte (stock and tuned) and also Beams I can compare them. But never any V6. And probably never will... -------------------- No more replicas... Everyone has an opinion. If you are going to feel that way evrytime someone post. Then brace for a hard ride. Welcome to internet.
Yes its true i said i dont like the 1mz. Never said it was pos. it comes in vans. I also hate wendys and hardees. That does not mean they are bad restaurants. We are all adults and we have to learn to take criticism either positive or negative. Like i cant tell the number of times i take crap for having a girly vert. I dont care. Or how many times people critcized my beams at the time instead of the 3sgte. Im still here no matter what. Im not being hateful. Or trying to start an argument. Im just simply stating my opinion. And. Tuis is the last post ill put of this topic. Gl with whatever u decide -------------------- Learned a lot in 10 years... I hardly log in anymore, last login Today Sept 6 2019, and I was forced just to clarify a post. LOL
If you PM me and I dont respond, dont fret or cry. Im alive, better post your questions in the thread below, maybe I log back in 2grfe Swapped... Why I chose the 2GR, before you ask read here... A great civilization is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself from within. @llamaraxing in Instagram is the best way to find me. I hardly log here anymore. |

Both of you are right I should be the one defending the 1mz the most But its hard to stick up for yourself in a 1000/1 fight Way to forget Smaay and myself. yeah you know i got your back! QUOTE out of date pos motor that's only good to pull around a soccer moms mini van i dont think anyone has ever come out and said that, if they did and i saw it i would have jumped all in their business. That is a horrible statement to make, yeah so what the 1MZ and 3MZ came in a Sienna, in fact mine came from an 05 Sienna. But ill be happy to go toes to toe with anyone and show them what moms minivan power plant can do. the 2GR came in a camry, and it also comes in a freaking Lotus!!!! so just because the MZ came in a mommy car, doesnt mean it shouldnt get some respect. I have yet to see anyone posting dynos of their swaps like i have. or put as much effort and time in their swaps like WE have I dont know if any other thread with as much information as mine and Kurts -------------------- 2001 Celica GT-S Turbo
