Ok so just recently a pretty loud noise has started coming from the 'front drivers side wheel area'.

The noise is ONLY when I'm accelerating/on the gas at all. As soon as I take my foot aft the gas it stops (kind of a squealing/clunking/grinding noise). Thats why I'm thinking it could be the rear motor mount, if its bad then it would tweak a little and the axle wouldn't line up the way its supposed to right?

I jacked the car up and no noises just spinning the wheel, bearing doesn't seem to have any play in it. All the other suspension parts a like brand new.

Just trying to narrow it down, if its ONLY when I press on the gas, what else could it be?

I took a pic of the front and rear mounts, and the rear looks a lot worse, but idk if that bad enough to make the noises.

Rear - It looks a lot more worn down

Front - looks in a lot better shape

Found a poly mount wondering if it will work, idk how they replace the one now? like how does the rubber part come out? or is there a better mount option?

says for gt4, but the gt mounts should be the same right?

You have to cut the rubber out and slide the 2 pieces in. The gt4 mounts do not fit exactly. I tried when I did mine and ended up paying $160 to toyota for the front mount because no one else had it. The rear mount is a little to wide and the front mount is to small around to fill the hole there is a not her place that has them that are supposed to work for the 5s I'll see if I can find and link

yeah its not going to be too much fun lol. The mounts have only been installed on this car for like 4 months shouldn't be too hard to get the bolts out…. but then again its never easy laugh.gif

I bought the Kirkosaurus mounts, lagos installed them Thread here Said they worked/ fit well and pretty easy to install, they don't replace the mounts, just insert overtop kind of a thing. All links in Art's post.

Bought the GT rear mount (using the s54) from toyota today, was like $80 I think for a new one. Right around what I would expect for a dealer part. And the inserts were like $50 shipped. So not too bad if it fixes it.

The rear takes most of the force of the engine wanting to twist back, and since I got used ones mean to the power of a 5s… the rear went fairly quickly with the 3s in there. Ill post if this fixes my problem so if anyone who swaps has the issue may have a solution.

I used to have a lot of issues with the stock mounts and the 3sgte. They just give out over time. A good test is to put the e-brake on, put the car in first, and slowly let the clutch out with the hood open. Youll see just how much the engine is moving around, and any clunks should show up. The inserts totally cured the problem for me, and I've had no issues since installing them.

But if this doesn't fix your problem, check your axles and control arms. Those are pretty much the only other things that could cause the noise you're hearing.

My Ebrake is disconnected lol
The axles are brand new so hopefully thats not it. And the Control arms i bought used with "10k" on them, they looked pretty new so I doubt its that either.
i got a new rear mount from the dealer (front looks ok) and kirk inserts (front and rear) will be here monday. smile.gif I will post an update when I swap them out.

Have you checked you inner rear lower control arm bush?

Mine had similar symptoms and the bush had disintegrated causing the noise.
