My trip odo is stuck on a number. It tries to spool over the 9 of the rotating cylinder and return to 0 on the next mile but it is just moving a little and clicking back to the 9 while moving. Is there a way to get into it and see if one of the gears is off or something? How do I fix this? Actually, the clicking sound it makes while broken is quite annoying.

Well that'a a great idea. but HOW! lol. Certainly you cant just open up a unit like that since it also contains the mileage.

Take the combination meter out completly. Then remove the speedo. You can open it up to gain acces to the tripmeter. On one side of the gearassembly, you can pop it up so you can roll all gears to wherever you want and see if there's a broken one
