didnt really plan on opening a progression thread but thought i would give it a go.
Member name: MisterRay but Ray will do Market: UK Year: 1997 Model: ST Frame & Type: AT200 Hatch Engine: 7A-FE Transmission: TBA i currently own a 1997 ST hatchback which i bought in MARCH 2012. only paid £500 for it as it was recorded as accident damaged and the guy thought his cambelt was going (was actually the power steering belt squeaking but i kept that quiet) i bought it on 74k and its currently got 81k on the clock give or take a thousand lol it was completely stock and mostly still is. but i have changed a few things here and there when i had the time (and moneyl) the picture is a little deceiving. the hood has paint chips the front has paint chips. age related marks etc. APRIL 2012 when i bought the car the condition of the seats was very good other than the colour fading along the top of the back seats but the plastic trim was, for the lack of a better word, ****ed. it had paint peeling, scratches, gouges, holes drilled etc. so decided to replace a couple of the pieces and respray them on a budget as a quick fix. resprayed the plastic trim pieces red. used cans. in the shed. on a cold rainy day lol pics arent of best quality tho. £16 later... bought some black with red trim floor mats. red interior led kit from Spree (SpreeLED) and installed some footwell lights controlled by a toggle switch while i was at it. MAY 2012 decided to install some puddle lights on the doors. reasons are self explanatory lol used 30cm white 5050 SMD led strips and wired them to the courtesy door lights. JUNE 2012 thought it would look cool if i could get all 4 headlamps to light up so went to the garage across the road and had my sidelights quad converted. he added 2 more 501 holders, tapped into the original sidelight. and drilled holes on the side of the inner headlight. end result JULY 2012 my birthday came up so my woman decided to upgrade my sound system as a gift 2x 8" Bassface subwoofers for the front doors 2x 6.5" Bassface coaxials for the rear 1x 15" Bassface subwoofer for the trunk. 6 channel Cougar amp. JVC XR411 Double Din head unit RMS is in the 1500 region. cant remember off the top of my head. would highly recommend these speakers as an upgrade from stock btw. it isnt competition grade but definitely worth every penny! the 8's the 15 the 6.5s AUGUST 2012 my dad decided to borrow my car for the day and through no fault of his own it ended up in a collision. some guy decided to pull out and drive into the side of my car. had it repaired privately. that was the last time my dad drove my car lol after the accident after repairs SEPTEMBER 2012 got a job in September so was jus racking up the hours while i had the chance. did absolutely nothing on the car for next few months lol FEBRUARY 2013 some1 decided to take a baseball bat to 1 of my rear lights and knocked off the bumper also. probably an ex. but that did give me an excuse to buy sum rear lights. got these off ebay. the guy sprayed em before he sent em out. bumper still doesnt sit completely flush on the left side because 1 of the clips broke and paint came off where it got hit aswel. (touched up now tho) APRIL 2013 this is probably the biggest thing i have done to the car. bought some red leathers off Vincent (Vincent_Doggy) and some heated seat elements then had a go at installing it. also re-wired the front footwell lights so it didnt look so unprofessional and added sum rear footwell lights too. whole car has a nice red glow to it when my sidelights come on. also i dont actually know where the pictures of front seats have disappeared to lol i do have some tho. the seat covers the heated seat elements harness switch - rocker switch with 3 settings. high, off, low before after MAY 2013 didnt do much else to the car until this year. was saving up for a holiday at the time. MARCH 2014 during one of the weekends my cousin sister stayed over so decided to take her out for a meal and sum shisha. so while driving to the shisha lounge the car fell into a damn crater. basically there used to be speed humps on that road, but the council removed them and didnt repair the roadway! the holes are literally about 4/5 inches deep and 1m wide on a street with no damn street lights. anyways fell into that hole and cracked/bent/buckled my 2 of my alloys so had to buy another set. bought sum 18x8j VW alloys with et35. vinyl wrapped them in carbon fibre because the paint job was utter crap. vinyl helped cover the rash, blemishes etc some1 also broke into my car and managed to steal... a USB stick... yes. thats what they broke in for. bought a replacement for £40 washed installed also changed the headunit to a Pinoeer BT350 Single Din. matched my red interior lol APRIl 2014 tinted the car. 5% rear 35% front. looks good but cant see **** out the back windows not that i ever look back anyway. car as it sits at the moment ordered some OEM tweeters and covers for the front doors from a 6gc member aswel (HijoDeLobo) MAY 2014 decided to make a switch panel out of plexiglass as the old button pieces got lost/broke. wrapped that in carbon fibre vinyl also wanted to change it up a bit and vinyl wrap my centre console in brushed aluminium. looks decent but personally i prefer paint. the wrap the install installed a 12v socket with a dual usb charging port as the cig lighter has been disconnected to power my heated seats. tools. ready to do sum damage drilled the hole. sanded it down. popped in the us ports. and flush mounted them. none of that stickie outie crap. wired the socket up to the switch. tested. and pushed it onto the back of the charging ports. reason why i installed a switch was because i tend to leave my ecig charger plugged in. sumtimes its just nice to flip the switch and turn it off. ordered this gear knob on wednesday. awaiting delivery. made for a MK1 Golf. seems like alot of their stuff fits in my car. few things on my to do soon list... replace the driver side window switch panel that i snapped in half. paint interior trim (still deciding on colour... also big shout out for the input by alot of the members here) change those disgusting orange side repeaters to smoked ones. install the rubber euro splitters sitting under my bed. change those silly washer nozzles to the corolla mist ones. fight the temptation to order a speedo bezel from the End. buy 35mm lowering springs This post has been edited by MisterRay: Jun 20, 2014 - 6:59 PM -------------------- "whoever said progress was a slow process... was probably talking about me" |

The seats looked great! Did you just cover the old ones? Or did you have to remove the old cloth and then install these?

I know the feel of having your car broken into...mine got broken into last weekend all for an old iPod with no glass on the screen that was worth maybe $10.
The seat covers look good by the way! I'll have to get me some soon because mine are starting to tear away. This post has been edited by PegGTS: May 10, 2014 - 3:06 PM -------------------- 2007 Impreza 2.5i - Daily

your tint is on the outside? I was just going to say the same thing... The tint is suppose to go on the inside of the windows, not the outside.. sorry I shud have put better pics up. no... the tints are on the inside. they put it on the outside to cut it down to shape and prep it for install lol -------------------- "whoever said progress was a slow process... was probably talking about me" |

Uhh, I dont think you use a heat gun to cut it to shape while its on the outside of the glass...and I dont think you need to clean the outside glass if its suppose to be on the inside. From your pictures, they most definitely put it on the outside.

I was there lol they shrinked the edges a lil while on the outside. then they cleaned the inside n put it on. heated it all over for adhesion. If u check YouTube videos ul see they do same thing. also I told him to use the outer windows cuz they were getting water on my subs -------------------- "whoever said progress was a slow process... was probably talking about me" |

They cut and shape it from the outside. It works out very well on the hatch. You heat up the tint so it takes the curve of the glass, then apply on the inside of the car.
