Anyone ever see that episode of The Fresh Prince of Bel-air when they went on a game show?
I swear 90% of the people on this forum are like carlton.
instead of just answering someones question, they'll post a dozen comments rambling on about something barely relevant.

You ask about horsepower and they speak about braking power.
you ask about ketchup and they speak about tomatoes.

Like come on s**t or get off the pot

Another thing I hate is when someone asks a question and 17 people say "use the search button"
the first person couldve posted a link and simply helped entire generations of celica owners who are looking for an answer and stumble across that post. (The notepad in my phone has a whole section dedicated to 6gc info, full of DOZENS of links, info, explanations of how stuff works, notes to myself, a wishlist, etc. I know im not the only one like this, so im sure you all can give them a specific answer or just give them a link to a web page youve saved)
its like in school when you asked a teacher how to spell a word and they say "check the dictionary. . How the hell am I supposed to look up a word I cant spell?
Smh.

Okay rant over. Ill get my flame retardant ready

This forum is by far the best I've been on as far as members helping each other out. Other forums get downright personal and attack people for asking a question. When I see a question I don't know the answer to, I like to look it up and post links. Then I've learned something new myself. I haven't had as much time lately as I used to so I havent been doing it anywhere as much.

It doesn't help that most of the knowledgeable members are no longer active. We still have a few very knowledgable members but they aren't active daily.

Ok. Here is my 2 cents.

You are right. There is a lot of negativity around here. It frustrates. However its because forums are a dying breed. And lot of users like facebook. You have a few people here now and either you get criticized or no comments at all. Or maybe even a looking good.

The search issue. Well after being here for several years, you get tired of that crap. And unfortunately there are no teachers here. I swear some stuff asked if i can find it, someone else can. Or at leas the person asking the question should ask a legitimate question. Or show that he at least tried.

Almost 90% of the crap is covered in the stickies at the top of the forum.

Questions like

Can i put a gt4 hood on my celica

Can i put a facelift bumper on my celica

Where can i buy a 3sgte

Can i swap a 3sgte

Can i swap a 2jz, 2zz, etc etc etc.

Those questions have been answered a thousand times. And searching will yield results.

Unfortunately nothing will be done, or can be done. I give the forum a couple more years before it goes offline.

There are only a few true 6gc enthusiasts nowadays. The rest are just here because they need a car, and they have a 6gc. Once they get bored, they move on. Such is life.

I get a lot of negativity too man, dont let that down you. Heck im swapping the most crazy **** ever, im proud to be the first and only person to do it in a 6gc.

Do i care what people think. Well, i am not bothered by the naysayers.

Yea I know, ive been a member here for a year but was doing research on 6gc long before that. Ive always seen you helping people, along with those other OG members. Sadly all we get nowadays is hearsay. "Dont do that, it's stupid. I saw a ford blow up from soing something similar" or "I read on this website..." we need more personal experience from people willing to go above and beyond. I understand that funds and time arent always plentiful. I work at walmart 5 days a week so believe me I understand. But I love my car and I love doing mods. After im done building my car ill be sure to pass on my knowledge

Norberto yea I feel you. I know people ask dumb questions, lol im not talking about those idiots who dont know how a forum works.
I always go on google first and type in "6gc 400hp daily driven 3sgte" and things like. I only ask as a last resort. Then after 30 comments im still stuck with no answer and have to do it on my own
Also congrats on that swap man, your car and the rwd celica are the most innovative celicas to date.

The bugatti is a daily driven 1000hp car. Nuff said.

I daily drive a 305 hp car. And now is not enough. Is not what car you drive. Is how you drive it.
