And? And? Who did it belong to, how long did you drive it, did you drive it hard?

Has anyone on here had experience with ATS Racing? I'm thinking about having them swap my car to a beams but I havent been able to find any reviews on them.

You should be able to swap it yourself with all of the information and support here. Find some mechanical savvy friends and pay them in beer to help. tongue.gif

My dad is looking to buy a car, so he took me with him for company. We visited a friend's town and we met up for a small test drive.
It was my first time driving a RHD car, and high HP with turbo. So I drove for like 10 minutes on a fairly empty road, I did a few pulls from low speed. Full boost @1 bar I think, shifting close to redline. It pulls hard. This is my car, I'm buying one!

Maybe I don't know though. It'd be nice to have someone do it and not worry. I'm thinking if I had it done I might do a gen 2 or gen 3 3sgte swap. I'm just unsure of ats racing's swap quality. I haven't been able to find any reviews.

Yep. I was planning on it. It would be cool to do the swap myself but I fear it would never run again if I attempted to do it.

For wiring, you just need to extend the engine harness and then you only need to re-pin 3 wires.

Other than that, just do a T-belt change with all the other components under the timing covers.

Make sure you torque everything down to spec and you'll be fine.

Maybe. I'm going to talk to a couple of swap shops just to see how much a 3sgte would run. If I do it by myself I'll probably do a beams. If I have a shop do it, I'll probably do a gen 2 or gen 3 3sgte. I've go a lot of thinking to do. Honestly doing the manual swap scares me more than doing an engine swap.

It's not that bad if you have a dry space to work in, the right tools, and a lot of patience, and help. And time, lots of extra time.

Interesting if I had known that I would've bought those lol. Well I got it for 70 shipped so it's not bad. Today I am going to paint my passenger rear quarter panel that I just repaired and install the door that I picked up from Smaay last night

Well I definitely won't have ats racing swap my car. They want $7000 for a gen 3 swap and 6500 for a gen 2. Doing it myself doesn't seem so bad now.

Hell, buy Fastbird's car at that rate.

I know I could or buy diegohiga's car for only a 1000 more. I contacted primr2 for a estimate and theirs price was much better. The only issue would be shipping it to them

Every now and then an already swapped car will pop up on eBay and usually doesn't sell for too much more than the sum of its parts. Of course that'd mean be willing to ship or travel most likely. I've on and off thought about it myself, as far as picking up a nice GT with a blown engine for about $1,000 and doing one of the various swaps. Last I looked around the BEAMS and 3S-GTE has come down quite a bit in price. Of course the venerable 1/3MZ is another consideration.
