My clutch blew. (it's probably still the stock clutch).

I don't even know where to begin looking at what are my possibilities for replacement clutches are.

Rockauto.com Aisin clutch with pressure plate and release bearing $134.00 +shipping. Unless you're running a high-power track setup the OEM clutch is the best way to go. And you can get the Aisin slave cylinder for only $15 while you're at it.

Saw 3 Celicas, none of the regular Mid West ppl. A black one, a white GT, & a faded red.
Sorry I am not able to tell years by sight. Just odd to see 3 in 1 day, blocks apart, in this area
without a Meet. I admit, I did ogle for a time. wink.gif

I searched around on Yahoo Japan Auctions and found a Exedy clutch kit for $170, as well as a new C-One lightweight flywheel for $190 and decided that instead of paying for two separate shipping fees, to have it consolidated into one. I'm stoked to have found a brand new (discontinued) flywheel for cheap.

What was your repair bill for the clutch job? I've been quoted 20hrs from a garage whom recently worked on another GT-Four for the same repair. They're trust worthy guys and I'm sure it'll be a top quality job, but 20hrs?!?

I was leaving town for 2 weeks, so I decided to leave my car in the care of my good friend's parents' house (they live in a much nicer neighborhood) while I was gone.
Not even a single day after (hadn't left town yet), my friend calls me in a frenzy because his neighbor had backed into my car. One of the most ironic things that happened to me in 2014, I had to laugh.
Talked with the lady and she was very apologetic and is taking responsibility - I'm getting an estimate today. She backed into my driver side door - it fortunately doesn't look too banged up, mostly traded paint. Still annoying, though lol. Might use this opportunity to get my weather stripping fixed (it had been peeling a bit).

Yeah I found those C-One flywheels as well. I was really annoyed because I found them for the BEAMS 2 months ago and that seller had half a dozen of them so I decided to order them when I had a little extra cash floating around. Went back 3 weeks later to order and there were none anywhere frown.gif

The clutch is not a pretty job on GT-Fours.... but 20 hours for a shop is excessive IMHO.

As of a few days ago... teaser for a photoshoot:

The shop rate to change spark plugs on a LT-1 F-body is 7 hours... tongue.gif Yeah, 20 hours is a little much for a clutch even on an AWD car. I'd find a Subaru dealer and see what their rates are.

So I picked up a Samsung Galaxy Gear Fit today, not for me; it's a present for my project,.

This should give everyone an idea of what I'm thinking,. but basically since it has a swappable watch band that you can snap off, you can also 3dprint a base that would snap in to the Celica Center Trim Piece to replace the old trusty green clock with a bright beautiful smart watch.

This way, if I'm getting a phone call, I can swipe the clock to have it piped through my stereo, notifications for facebook, gmail etc scroll on it and you can make hands free calls. Of course you have to have a phone it syncs with but I do., so get in the car, and the car is directly linked.

I look forward to seeing how it turns out.

how you planning on charging the gear or are you planning on taking it out to charge it?

Took out the back seats so I could remove the rear interior panels and re-wire the rear speakers to the factory wires. Was pleased to find that it has some nice 6" Alpine co-axial speakers in the rear with phat magnets.
Cleaned all the metal floor and in the trunk while I had the seats out. Tomorrow I head to the pick-n-pull to take a bumper cover off and grab both headlights and the bumper reinforcement.
