Does anyone have a wiring diagram or could walk me through the foglight wiring the STOCK way?

Im buying a 95 GT in the coming week and im gonna put my 97 facelift bumper on it. I already have a light/turn signal stalk with the foglight switch on it, and want to use that so everything is the oem way. And of course, i will buy facelift fogs.

It doesnt have to be wired 100% oem, i can use a radio shack relay. i would just like to know how to route wires to the headlight stalk so that i can use that instead of buying a "second choice" switch.

I started with what I know to do, I swap engine into my car, I knew it was too much work to make it a AWD. I kept it FWD. Went to take a crack at doing the wiring conversion. Than, I realize, shoot, this is out of my league.

No that thread wont help me. That is for facelift models that already have everything wired from the factory.
i have to hardwire everything in myself. I have the multi functional stalk tho.

Ok figured it out. I wired it this way and it's been working fine. It's not a full right up as the other info u need is mentioned in the link above. This write up is easier for those using an aftermarket fog light/ wiring kit that want to use the factory fog light multifunctional switch and not a toggle switch.

Disclaimer: I'm not responsible for anything that goes wrong, attempt this at your own risk.
Time: Takes 1-3 hours depending how fast you work.
Tools: soldering iron, butt connectors, wire strippers, crimps, Phillips screwdriver.

On your 96+ multifunction switch harness there should be 2 wires that are not on you pre face stalk harness, a green with a black stripe and white with a black stripe.

1. Your going to have to cut your preface harness, as it won't fit into your 96+ stalk and connect the wires from your car to the harness that comes with your 96+ stalk. Just match the colors as they are the same. I recommend soldering as the butt connectors can loosen with steering wheel tilt.

2. Of the two wires mentioned above that were not connected, run a wire from the white/ black stripe cable from your harness to the fog light fuse in your fuse box.

3. Run a wire from the green/ black stripe cable to your aftermarket relay.

4. Test your connection and that should do the trick.

how did you manage to use a 96+ stalk on a pre-96 car? I tried swapping stalks between my 99 and my 94 and they wouldn't interchange. The 96 stalk had an extra plastic ridge that would have to be cut off before it would slide into the steering column.

I dont have a harness for the facelift stalk, just the stalk itself. I bought it from a member on here and installed it in my 97 ST. Im not gonna cut the ST harness because that car will be my winter beater.
info is appreciated tho, would like to see pictures of how everything is wired/installed

If you cut that plastic ridge, do you think it would work? Im at work til 8pm but when i get off, if i finish installing dynamat in my GT, ill try to swap the stalk

Cutting the plastic ridge will not work. I tried that. The pin layout is different on both harnesses, it's hard to tell the difference but it will slide in half way but not connect.

You will have to get a facelift stalk with the harness attatched to use it on a preface celica. The stalk I bought came with the harness and I tried everything to avoid cutting my harness. Even de-pinning it wouldn't work.

I can get some pics tomorrow

ah you replaced the harness on the column too. that makes sense. For some reason I was convinced that harness wasn't removable

yeah I was worried about cutting mine at the column too but haven't had any issues since I soldered the cables.

Everything works exactly the same, so no compatibility problems other than the harness adapters.
