and how does that situation make you feel? Do you think this remotes back to your childhood years?

Frustrated. Quite possibly, I've always had the dire need for things to be perfect even as a small child.

Box you really need to decide what you want. You either have to deal with daily driving a project and the nuisances it brings. Or you're going have to buy something newer with as few "faults" as possible.

You may be onto something here. redface.gif I'll figure it all out eventually.

I'm the person that could buy a brand new Ferrari and find faults in it, therefore receiving a letter from a now deceased Enzo Ferrari saying I have no right to complain because I'm just "a farmer" or whatever and should just build my own car.

I prefer Enzo's products over Ferruccio's.

you have serious issues

thank you

I like both, but don't ask me to decide definitively one way or the other. Though if it weren't for Enzo being a douche I wouldn't have to decide, so therefore I guess I nod in Lamborghini's direction.

Who doesn't?

Maybe try something you've never thought of before. Maybe try a Subaru WRX, or a Honda Si, or an e30 BMW. You might find out you like them and if not well you're one step closer to finding the car you want.

Four doors, wrong wheel drive, and fugly Euro. That was easy. tongue.gif I have thought about an E36 though, but finding a coupe with the manual is discouragingly difficult. Same with the SC300, only some 3,800 were ever made with the 5-speed. I don't know, I like the Firebird just not all of the things I want and need to do with it. Especially when a 4th gen has everything already done.

Hey you might like them so you never know? I never thought I'd like a civic till I drove one. While I'm not keeping mine I have a healthy respect for them now.

I do either need to sell it or get a second car to use everyday. It just sucks down premium fuel even with driving like an old man barely using the throttle. I know I don't want to sell it and then not be able to find a nice enough 4th gen. Perfect case scenario I'd trade or even find one I could go ahead and buy first. If I wasn't set on getting a 6-speed car I'd have no issues at all doing that. I have considered a 3rd gen, but the TPI 5-speeds are even harder to find than the 6-speed 4th gens. The TBI 5-speed is common enough, but it kind of has the whole poser vibe only having a measly 170 horsepower. Which was about what the heavier late 2nd gens had from the factory, now that I think about it. There are pluses and minuses to whatever I choose to do.

I found my For Sale sign that I've used on the last few cars. laugh.gif It turns out the 4th gen I found back before I found the '79 is still for sale, but with a recent $500 reduction and OBO tacked to the end. I'm kind of surprised it hasn't sold yet, I have thought about asking about trading but I'm not 100% set on getting rid of the '79. Even though it's a giant pain and has no right being a daily in this day and age. I'm really going to hate it here soon once it heats up outside as the A/C compressor was lost during the swap and it needs redoing. After looking through wiring schematics and everything I understand why so many second gens have the HVAC system ripped out...

Yea, you're better off just making your own AC circuit with a pressure switch, relay, and switch in the cabin than trying to make the factory wiring system work properly. Use the high pressure and low pressure switches in series (both have to be closed) to ground the relay and use the switch in the cabin to power the relay from a switched ignition source. You could add a second relay to the power feed from the blower relay to make sure you can't turn the compressor on with out the fan on but you could also just remember. Not rocket science, I don't know why they made things so complex sometimes.

It's pretty much ridiculous, there's two circuits. One is for the low to medium fan speeds and heat that run through the fuse panel, and then the high fan speed and A/C runs through a relay. What's really screwed up is instead of grounding the blower motor to the firewall there's a maze of wiring to ground it to the compressor bracket... It's all still there and working though after I discovered all of that nonsense and reconnected the ground wire, just missing a compressor.

Also I had a thought earlier, if I was ok with keeping it an automatic a 200-4r would be a nice upgrade.

You never know. I'm tell ya, try something different. You might like it. If not you can sell it like all the other cars you've owned.

Something different... The only ones out there I'd like to try that I haven't would be an E36 coupe, Impreza coupe, 924/944, RX-7, 240SX, SC300, and Corvette. If I wanted another FWD maybe a second gen CR-X, but like the 240SX finding one OEM is impossible. The 3rd/4th gen Firebird as a quicker means to an end as well. That's really about it.
