NAs and NBs need to be British racing green with tan interior.

Forever Black. laugh.gif

Sucks about the brake issue, going is fun but stopping is even better.

Hey, that stuff REALLY works. It dyes the plastic black and it stays black for years at a time with no fading. I've got enough to do the cowl every year for 10 years, it doesn't take much to get it done. It looks just like it's a brand new wiper cowl unless you look REALLY close and know what you're looking for. Fixing that just makes the whole car look so much better, I like it. The underhood was just because I had enough left in the foam brush to do it.

Emerald Mica is nicer looking though:

I also really like the 10AE Sapphire Blue:

The '00 SE Mahogany Mica is nice too:

The only problems there is they have the 6-speed from what I hear is nowhere as good as the 5-speed since the gear spacing is wonky.

Hmm, a lot of mixed reviews on Amazon though. I noticed their Black Top Gel is rated a good bit better than the bumper and trim kit. That's ok currently I don't have a car with black plastic or rubber trim, but my brother does. I think he's using Surf City Black Max at the moment and it seems to last a few weeks.

Today I:
Got the other side of the Mazda brakes torn down, shoe contact points ground and polished, wheel cylinder installed, and shoe contact points painted with 3 coats of black paint to keep them from getting rusted up so badly as fast. I'll let that paint dry over the weekend at work and reassemble the shoes Monday and gravity bleed out the old nasty brake fluid. Tuesday is axle day.

At home I pulled the driver side skirt off the Celica, washed it till it wiped clean with a white rag, de-oiled it with an acetone wipe down, then applied Forever Black to it as well. I'd been waffling about painting them but after seeing how tore up they were from gravel and stone paint would take too much of a beating down there and plasti-dip fades in the sun. I'll probably only do one coat of the stuff, I've learned how to apply it pretty well now so the one coat on there looks fairly good. May do a second wipe down with a rag that has some on it to get some thin spots where it seems like more absorbed.

At first I was like how'd that work since they're painted, but I guess the 7th gen it's just exposed plastic?

Yep, just black plastic similar to the wiper cowl in texture. Mine have faded some over the past 15 years, this should get them looking nice again.

I see. redface.gif

Well apparently eBay's site is dead at the moment. I wonder if auctions are extended or just end... Would be pretty ****ty if they just ended with the site being down.

There it goes...

So 1,193 views and 12 watchers and no one else has contacted me. At this point I'm not entirely sure what I want to do.

that stinks. fix it, drive it, love it.

I'll pull the other skirt to wash and get a picture next to the blackened one out in the sun to show the difference. I snapped the blackened one on the car last night just to see and it really looks so much better, I'm glad I didn't paint them.

It's hot outside and I'm inside so I'm not going to get any outside shots comparing the two, especially since I already put the blacked out one back on last night. I found that bug n tar remover followed by oven cleaner really pulls all the tar and dirt off and out of the plastic, even when it's embedded into the surface. The passenger side is soaking some oven cleaner on it now to go wipe down and hose off in a little while, then a wipe with acetone to make sure the surface is free of oils then it's dye time. The other side turned out great, very even given the large area. I had intended only to do the visible parts but ended up doing the whole outside because OCD.

Woo pictures.

I wish people would learn to read. Has someone message asking if I would accept 3,500 so I said yes, then the next message I get asks if it drives... It's only mentioned numerous times what happened and that it needs a trans rebuild or replacement...

Well it does drive. Tell him yes, it drives. You're not lying. He didn't ask in what direction or for how long it drives.

i need to vent. the web has become dummer, and stupid. I cannot believe i had to search hours, and hours for something so simple, in all cars prior to the 80. in my classic car forums, nobody knew, or wanted to help. Its absurd.

3 days, looking for this diagram. to get the pin out

cannot find a decent manual that tells you this either.

forums are filled with people that dont want to help anymore.... lets not make this one, another one..
