Recently got 41 mpg on a 400 mile trip driving 55-60 mph and have gotten 35-36 mpg on previous trips. Usually get low 30's when I check it with a mix of my normal city/highway driving. Anyone else check their gas mileage?

That's phenomenal gas mileage for a GT, you make me sick.
Mine's more like 25-28, worse when its just in the city. But i need some wheel bearings and an EGR valve.

Yeah, I pretty much only drive city and not much (I ride my bicycle usually).
I'll get maybe 25-28 mpg, but I fill up every 4-5 weeks.

When I was driving home to Texas a lot, I'd regularly get 32-34 mpg of pure highway.

I did a 400 mi trip to buy some rims off craigslist, ended up getting around 44mpg, but hey... it's a stock ST, what else would you expect.

I need to test out my GT with the S51 5th gear swap to document what the actual MPG would. Should probably go for a good 600 mile trip to really see what I can get out of it.

Wow, fabulous! There is no other sports car so great looking and handling that comes even close to 44 mpg.

Do you know how many RPM's your engine turns at 60 MPH? My '99 is actually a little higher then my previous Celica ('89) but still gets better mileage. Probably better aerodynamics. Let us know what you get on a trip.

I don't usually drive at 60mph so I can't say off the top of my head.

Here's the how to:
