dont know if the socket comes with it since im still waiting for the lights but try to have all that I need when they'll be here

You meany Had to go to my car take out the light and make a picture of it.




The left part is connected with the h4 connector. The bulb is fitted into the socket from the left.


BTW the left part Has 2 prongs. but shot the picture from above so 1 is above the other.

ok so do I need to buy a "socket" like that too (left part) in addition to the H4 connectors, or it' s the same part?

in case that I dont get the socket (left part from the picture that goes between the H4 connector and the bulb) with my lights, what that socket is called?

im not postive on what the name of it is, but you can call up ToyotaWorld and speak to Jeff or you can call tbrd2005 ask him what it's called (send them the picture) and tell them you need one. On the stock lights that i belive that peice is called the bulb back. I would ask one of them. If i can find out I will let you know.

Doesn't this make it much easier if you had HIDs because you can just change out the bulbs and use the same ballasts.

im getting my proyectors...but i already have a hid kit for stock headlights(9006 bulb)..the proyectors use h1 bulb right? so i have to buy another kit? or there is a way to put 9006 bulb into proyector...or convert 9006bulb into h1 bulb? plz help me =)

No 9006 HID bulb will not go into projector - Ive tried this, shape is totally different, 9006 bulb is big while the H1 is a small squarish opening. If you want it clean, you can do it like me, I got a 9006 heavy duty wiring harness that connects to the 9006 stock harness socket but you cut the end of the 9006 harness for the bulb side, now you crimp that to an H1 or H4 Harness. Then I cleaned it up and wireloomed it. Basically what I've created is a clean plug n play 9006 to H1 harness. You will have to buy H1 HID bulbs but you can reuse the ballasts, but thats about it, easy...Mine looks cleaner than this thread's original install.

There is another part no. for Projector Low that have NO H1 Bulbs

Its much cheaper, about 20bucks per side

I would provide that part no. later, no point to pay that much for a pair of stock yellowish bulbs

Sorry to bring up an old thread.

I have projectors with HID bulbs. Came like this used from Japan.

Now having issues with the left side not always coming on. Probably ballast going.

Want to ditch HID setup and put regular H1. I have the stock connectors for the projectors with the 2 pin plug. The H1 bulbs have one pin.

I'm obviously missing something in between to make them work. I believe it's called a socket. Can I get this part locally? Possibly from another car or aftermarket?

Appreciate any information. .

What I did though when I installed my Jdm projectors is that I cut the original connectors and soldered the
connectors of the donnor car since removed them from the car so I cut the connectors as well. I pushed the protecting
boot and use a clamp to hold it in place. Then I removed it and the heat shring tube is not visible since it is hidden in the
black tube.

Does having the plug exposed like this mater? It terms of the rain? or washing the car etc.


Also, because of the plug design its quite easy for someone to reverse the polarity ( positive to negative) if the bulbs need to be replace. Dumb question but does that mater???

It matters. Your headlights can easily get condensation. And thats something you do not want.

Also it is always a good idea to properly solder & shrink tube all electrical connections. The butt clips will allow moisture to get to the connection and cause oxidation, which will lead to the headlight not functioning properly. These are by far the best upgrade I have done to my car to date and I have done quite a bit of modifying

They also sell heat shrinkable butt connectors like that. If you dont feel like soldering then at least get heatshrinkable connecters to keep that moisture out.

Ugh this is whole mod is driving me mad - I've since gotten the rubber boots at the back of the headlights. The plastic plugs I bought were beginning to get hot and melt at the closest point to the headlight - not majorly but still melting. I put it down to cheap plastic connectors. So I've temporarily removed the plastic and just left the terminals exposed (yes I know not great lol)

Are the h1 bulbs supposed to get this hot ? There is no damage to the wiring from the heat... I can't figure out if the brand of bulbs are putting out too much heat, whether my wiring is the culprit (which doesn't appear to have any unexpected voltage drop) or whether the headlights themselves are missing some sort of heat sink

I'm tempted to just put the originals back in
