I'd imagine the Lotus ECU probably has a higher rpm limit as well. At first I was hoping he meant for a 2GR-FZE. tongue.gif

The lotus ecu is more easy to tune. Les sensors and technically tuned for sports. Where as toyotas are not. You guys need to read the post at mr2 forums a lot more

Wholy **** man im convinced im ditching the 3mz stuff for this. Seeing clean 2gr engines on ebay for under1300 shipped changed my mind lol. I DEMAND A DYNO!!

dont quit so quickly. There was a ton of work involved in this swap. Lots of electrical and fab work. the 3MZ has been proven and a much easier swap.

not a ton of work. Ton of research, only. the swap is as complicated as any other swap. I feel like a 3sgte is complicated more. as you have to upkeep turbo.

the wiring was hard, because I converted a 5 plug harness to a 2 plug harness. If you get the 2 plug harness, you will be ok. Making a fuse box is easy.

Plus, once you are done, you will have torque beyond your dreams.

Agreed.. But i read every post of his 2 threads and dont see anything that scares me besides hacking the frame; which i have a friend who welds for a living so ill be fine there.

fabwork only a custom mount.


i dont have a dyno in town, im still sorting out few in and outs. Not particular to swap. My alternator came bad. and looking onto electrical ps pump.

i believe the 2gr is the swap to go if emissions are not of concern.

Ignore the torque spike. The dyno had a hard time with the COP. Only header and intake with rav4 ecu.
