Yup, they're even made in the U.S. as well. I'll try to get a good picture of the casing and internals here in a minute since I can't sleep anyway. Of course I would want to put stuff onto the car and go to cars and coffee on Saturday and it's supposed to be storming for the next five days.

I guess at least it didn't fall off while driving.

A couple of quick shots of the muffler:

Can't wait to get it onto the car so I'll have some glorious exhaust noise to go with the glorious induction noise, those alone make it worth having a LT1 over a LS1 to me at least.

I think that's their selling point these days. tongue.gif Not that the LS series sounds bad, but the LT1 just sounds so much better. Probably a weird reason to choose an engine, but meh. Now if only I can get an hour or two without rain in the afternoon I can get the new muffler and pipe on.

Well may not go to cars and coffee anyway, apparently within the last month or two some dumbass in a Mustang hit one of the metal barriers leaving the mall facilities and then tried to sue them. So now the mall won't host it anymore obviously and now it's held at some gun shop where I doubt the parking lot is anywhere as big...

When I found out I was pretty much like, "****ing figures..." Anyhow in better news was able to swap out mufflers and all that fun stuff, just finished up. Noticeably louder and sounds pretty good, will have to get a picture tomorrow and perhaps a video to update the project thread.

Oh yea, my $1.50 COB LED's came, they're even lower quality than even I had anticipated, that's setting the bar low! It's just a white 10W COB with a metal frame held by some little tabs! I'm going to try pot it with something and thermal epoxy it to some aluminum angle bar so it's got a little bit of a heat sink. It's WAY more light than I needed but hey, I'll be able to see enough under hood to do literally anything ever....assuming the LED lasts! It probably won't and I'll probably need to get something else less bright but more durable at a higher cost. For $3.00 shipped for a pair though, meh oh well. Had I realized that I'd be doing it this way I would have just bought a stupid little tilt switch instead of the nice OEM switch with socket and harness and all for almost $30. Oh well...live and learn right?

Also I looked under hood on the Celica, there's no good place like on the Mazda to put a light like I'd want so forget that. I got one I can probably place somewhere maybe, maybe not. I'll find a use somewhere though, rest assured. If nothing else maybe a glovebox light or a light in the lid of the center cubby, or I could install it on my mothers car or my GF's car. I'll find a use!

Better to have too much light than not enough I spose, also if it makes you feel any better I wasted $7 on an exhaust clamp that ended up being useless. Speaking of interior lighting I need to put LEDs into the map lights on the rear view mirror and in the dome light.

It's like you have the sun installed on the underside of your hood. tongue.gif You'll be able to see well though, and maybe keep a small pen light in the glove box if you need to look into somewhere that you'd be blocking off light.

Yesterday I scrubbed the tires with some Chemical Guys Citrus Wash & Gloss and after they dried wiped them down with some Surf City Black Max since it actually hydrates the rubber. Looks much better now.

I got the thing stuck on there and cable routed only to find that the switch I bought won't work mounted sideways, so I'm going to need to use a pin switch or get a different tilt switch, I think I have a tilt switch in a junk drawer at the shop so I'll grab that and try it here at home.

So due to recent health issues I'm banned from driving for three months..... Guess this gives me a chance to modify my Subaru some since I don't have to worry about getting it running the next day

That sucks royally, hope it's nothing too serious and all goes as well as it can. I guess that's one positive outlook, can do all the mods you haven't been able to do due to time constraints. I'm starting to run out of ideas myself with the Firebird, pretty much brakes and suspension are the only big things left. Everything else is small stuff like refinishing the sawblades, doing an extensive detail job on the paint, LED exterior lights, etc... At first I thought I'd have to change the front seats since the Camaro's were terrible, but the base Firebird seats are actually pretty comfy and supportive. I thought about test fitting the old Celica set I still have and if it'd work with little trouble find a nicer set to use, that or could do Z32 300ZX or C4 Vette seats since I've seen those done a few times.

Yep I plan on doing my rear brake swap during my down time. If I had the money I would engine swap it. And small stuff is the best stuff. The small stuff to me mashed the biggest difference. Nice seats are a must. Glad the firebirds are good enough. Maybe you could do an hid swap?

Guess you're wanting to do a 2.5 turbo of sorts? What's funny is the seats in the Firebird are considerably better than the seats in the Miata, but I think I like the Celica seats more due to the larger amount of side bolstering. I just recently did an E-code headlamp conversion, which I'd still be up for a HID conversion if I could obtain all the parts cheap enough to make it worth it since the E-codes were such an improvement. Just remembered need to finish the audio system, so will start looking into that again.

My dream is to do usdm 2.0 out of a 02-04 wrx and an STi 6 speed and rear end. Throw some 02-03 wrx seats in there. They are the best. Lots of bolstering and very comfortable.

Maybe you can find a good parts car some day. Will have to look into those too then, need to feel like taking the Celica seats out to mock fit them.
