I've heard bad things about all of them, so who knows. The Candlepower ones wouldn't be bad at $24 a pair, I guess the lumen output is at 12.8V and if so they'll put out even more and probably be near HID level of output on high beam. All out of a halogen in a popup headlight of all things.

Checking against the info on the Daniel Stern site I think you're right, so it won't be quite as big of an additional increase but it should put me into the Goldilocks zone of just high enough output to see really well but with a long enough lifespan I'm not changing bulbs every time I turn around.

Bosch platinums do not belong in that engine. I had a terrible stumble and bad rich problem under load in my 7A with brand new ones. Those could be part of the problem.
Check the intercooler and piping for a bunch of oily gassy fluid, had a MR2 in a long time ago that wouldn't shut off. It was self carb'd via the soup of gassy oil that filled the intercooler, it would keep running on since oil/gas mix is like 60 octane fuel and would self ignite. It could sit there blowing smoke rings putting along for 15 minutes no problem. Only way to shut it off was to block the air intake or put it into gear and stall it. -------------------- |

But yeah Bosch makes some good parts, but in my experience spark plugs are not one of them. Personally I'm a fan of Denso and NGK regardless of the engine they're going into. Iridium TT's make my Celica run so nice and should last a long time. The Platinum TT's in the Mazda are doing great after several years too, probably about 20K miles on them and they look nearly new still.

Timing set right ? Unfortunately, yes, it's a 5S. Mechanical timing is spot on but I'm wondering if the ignition timing may not be a little off. The O2 sensor is hooked up and I actually just picked up a spare to replace it (as well as spare coolant temp sensors) but I didn't realize I grabbed a 2 wire sensor, where this car has a single wire O2 sensor.
