ok so the real deal, is that the vert wont be a full track car. I will add a/c and use it for daily too. so.

plus i have a 76 celica, 73 corona mark II and a 75 corolla with full roll bar. I dont need another car... lol

Thinking about putting some Celica seats into the Firebird, I still have my old set I could use for test fitting then get some nicer ones if it wouldn't be too much work to do.

What are you doing for that to happen. cwm13.gif

Colorado has a ton of junk laying around in the roads. Some d bag in a Saturn used the shoulder of the interstate to cut me off and threw a rock into the windshield. That led to the first windshield replacement, which was a botched install. The guy stripped the windshield wiper nuts and studs, which left me without wipers for a week. Go figure, it started raining while we had no wipers. The guy also scratched the paint on my fenders. But everything else is destroying my paint so I guess I can't be too upset at just him for that. He did a poor job of sealing the windshield so he now has to come out and replace it again.

I'm so tired of the dashboard looking like crap, but I'm not going to spend $500 for a new old stock piece of plastic or $300 on someone's used one that looks like crap and will probably crack during shipping. Was trying to think of something to make something that'd look just as good, but I guess for now the dash mat in it's place will do... I'm not sure what I hate more, the solid axle or the PlaySkool dashboard.

Bring all 3 cars down to Houston and I'll get you guys squared away on some Bray Windshield film so you guys don't have to worry about rock chips anymore.

I was thinking he could start doing those windscreens like in NASCAR, when one gets something on it or it cracks just peel it off and expose a new one. laugh.gif

Today I assisted my brother with replacing head gaskets in his girlfriends Subaru Baja. Things went terrible but engines back in the car. Tomorrow we'll get everything buttoned back up and hopefully nothing will leak....

The Subaru Baja, the spiritual successor to the Brat. The Japanese El Camino.

So I'm thinking about buying some KYB Gas-A-Just mono-tube shocks for the rear of the Firebird to see if that helps sort it somewhat until I can dump a small fortune on doing Strano springs, KONI shocks, and a Watt's link. Only $70 shipped for the pair off Amazon, RockAuto, or Ebay. For one they'll be new which should make them better anyway, but being a mono-tube shock instead of a twin-tube should also help.

For what Bilstein cost can just get KONI, and I'm pretty sure Bilstein are German. tongue.gif I don't think GM would mind since they used KONI from the factory on 1LE cars and for the longest time Corvette rims were made by Enkei in Japan, the sawblades are marked "Made in Japan" on the inside. I was just thinking for $70 should be worth trying since I think part of my problems with the rear are with damping, at any rate it should be an improvement over slightly used twin-tube shocks. It's just to hold me over since doing Strano Springs, KONI Shocks, and the Watt's link all at once will cost slightly over $1,300.

Ahhh ok. Yeah the SLP cars had Bilstein, so three different shocks on the same car from the factory depending on how it was optioned.

Well I'm not sure when it happened but the rear shocks are blown are about to blow, was loading the back of the car and I noticed it dipped more than what it usually did so I started pushing down on the back of it and sure enough hear a scratchy swooshy sound from both shocks in addition to the back moving a lot with very minimal effort. They aren't leaking and the car still returns to level without a stupid amount of bounce, but it's only a matter of time before they go completely. I guess I was considering replacing them for a reason, needless to say I ordered a pair of KYB mono-tubes off Amazon with Prime shipping.
