Yeah, I've never messed with iron drain pipes. I AM pretty good at soldering copper pipe, so I DO have that skill badge.

I’m just the opposite. I haven’t had to work with copper before but at this point, I’ve worked with more than my share of rusted, seized black iron. Digging up a drain line and going from black iron to PVC ain’t no thang at this point. Our old house had clay drains between the house and sewer though. Screw that noise, never again.

I don’t mind the drain pitch, 1/8th inch every foot, or 1” every 8’. Easy enough. Vent pipes are easy enough if they’re planned out ahead of time... unlike that one time we remodeled our old house and added a bathroom and I was pretty far into it before I remembered that I needed a vent pipe. Would t been 10 minutes of work to add when I was building the wall. D’oh.

One of the most mind blowing revelations I’ve had in my 20’s was when I learned that the second mark on my level is the for drain lines. Bubble hits the second line and you’ve set the drain line right.

It's nice when it's been done right already, trying to correct problems after is what sucks...cause you're mucking about in someone else's **** and congealed grease all the while gagging and trying not to puke onto the freshly primed PVC.

Cleaned the top for the Miata, was still damp and the sun was going down so will do the 303 protectant tomorrow.

That and my brother was talking about trading in his Genesis for a '14 Mustang GT that was traded in where he works. Would be so upside down in it and he'd only be doing it to get more power, he won't like how it drives and feels in comparison. Hell if he wants something capable of making power just trade me the Miata for the Firebird and he'll be way ahead money wise even after doing what it takes to get the Firebird to 400+ horsepower compared to doing that.

Was looking at SW20 MR2 for sale and came across a Japanese market one, then noticed this gem of Engrish:

"MR2 A MAN IN DANDISM NEW RICH & SPORTS" I broke out in laughter so hard I actually couldn't catch my breath and was tearing up. My god that's just brilliant, seriously can't tell me they didn't have someone double check that. It makes me sad that one day Engrish won't exist, but alas it still perseveres to this day for now. I was on the HKS site the other day and it actually said "deveropment" instead of development and I couldn't help but smile. See, there's a need for native English speakers to learn Japanese after all. laugh.gif

Finished the Miata's top, have to wait for the 303 protectant to cure but after that it's good to go. Ended up doing two coats 30 minutes apart since it's probably never been done, and I wanted to make sure to get good coverage and protection since the top is in really good shape except for where mold or mildew stained it some on the passenger side.

Whatever was dropped in there perhaps made it out past the exhaust valve and is sitting on the cat? That or it was smashed into smithereens and blown out as dust. That just sucks, exactly why even if I had money to blow I'll pay the physical price of working on my own vehicles.

In other news link up that borescope, seems pretty damn decent for $15.

Honestly, I think all the cheap ones are the same. It's pretty low res but the head is small and the price is low so it'll do well enough for this stuff. I wish it were a better camera though, I'd gladly pay $30 for a camera with double the resolution.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075D52H7...=UTF8&psc=1 Oh it went up $1.

They're all the same more or less, but some say 720p, 1080p, 1200p, etc but they're all 2MP cameras so it's all bull****. There's some camera with a threaded end that has NICE looking accessories I might get. Better mirrors, hooks, and magnets for picking up stuff and seeing upward and to the sides. The accessories on this one are....hokey.

BLASPHEMER! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=znGBU5oODz8

The solution for a MK2 is more boost. The solution for a MK3 is 2ZZ (and then maybe more boost).

Well if it were a 5S-FE MR2 and was being swapped anyway... That or do the 2GR-FE. I just like the idea of the Honda K20/24 since it'd be weight reduction and a power increase.

Did a spark plug change in the subie today. Wasn’t terrible but definitely wasn’t fun.... one of the times I was glad I had a NA car.

Probably would go 2GR truthfully, naturally aspirated and low down torque is nice.

I watched a video on how to do it when I was thinking about the WRX and it didn't seem too bad, of course everything is terrible compared to an inline OHC engine.

It’s not the worst thing but there’s stuff in the way. Celica is much easier but the subie is thankfully no fbody.
