OEM is always best if you can for any replacement part but if not, any OE standard part should do the job. I haven't heard of any failing aside from those cheapo ebay parts.

I like the Stant radiator caps with the pressure relief lever. As far as thermostat goes if you can find an Aisin one they're done just like the o.e. as they're an o.e. supplier for Japanese makes, but you can usually get them for a good bit less if RockAuto has them or there's an Amazon or eBay seller with them. Like $10 plus shipping for one on RockAuto, part # AISIN THT009

So I found out the issue with the fluctuating engine temps at higher RPMs. There is a connector that is broke/not seated properly on the water outlet. The connector is for the engine coolant temperature switch. The center piece that goes into the female part of the actual sensor is floating around inside of the outer part that clips onto the sensor. After adjusting it, I drove a bit and noticed that the temp on the gauge weren't fluctuating anymore.

I suppose the whole time the radiator, hoses, etc... wasn't the issue. I guess it doesn't hurt to have a new rad and hoses though. Should've paid for attention to the sensors.

Anyhow, this leads me to the next point. Would any of you have leads on where I can get the connector end so I may rewire it and have a proper seating clip?

If it's the connector of the sensor that's the issue then that's easy enough, just get a new sensor. If it's the wiring harness connector then you'll have to find one either from someone online that cut it off or get it off a car in the junkyard or being parted out. For what it's worth there are two sensors, one to the ECU and one to the gauge. So it's not the end of the world and the original is just a dummy gauge anyway, might consider going to a good aftermarket coolant temp gauge so you actually know what the temp is and get the information in real time. I know why they do it, but why performance oriented cars especially have dummy gauges or an in-comprehensive gauge setup in general is beyond me.
