it doesn't help that parts are discontinued, too. I bought the last OEM 3rd gear available. I think 6th gear is still available though. Thankfully there's people still trying to get parts reproduced, but they're expensive since they're billet parts.

Get two. Sell one, keep one. = profit

Maybe when I have a garage, for now that defeats the purpose of paying one less rego.

Garages are the best, they let you hold onto cars indefinitely with no side effects.

Unless someone rams their two ton land yacht through the garage door, anyway.

I've honestly thought about it. I have one guy who's been bugging me about selling the 3rd gear that I have sitting on my shelf since his grenaded and no one has made a billet version yet.

The GR700 T56 Magnum swap from Grannas is balls expensive though at $6300 and that doesn't include the clutch for another $2200 or so.

Nissan's CD009 is always a cheaper alternative, but those who start the swap never really update much of their progress to see how their results are.

Hmm, could use your new third gear for getting all the dimensions and start making them with CNC machines. Make bank?

That seems a bit excessive, unless that's including the transmission. The clutch better be some kind of multi-plate at that price... I dunno though, for what the V160 sells for and costs to rebuild in the long run you very well might save money and headache sadly. Plus the TR-6060, and especially the Magnum, are a lot higher rated than the V160's 370 ft lb rating being 600 and 700 ft lb respectively so you'll probably never have problems unless you just do something terribly stupid.

Yeah I had seen where the CD009 gets mentioned often for various engines, but then don't ever see many people actually using it. Though it seems like various swap kits are out there I guess the trouble comes with mounting the transmission in the car, getting everything connected and working, and the drive shaft. That would be the way to go though financially speaking if it were no harder to accomplish swapping in versus the T-56/TR-6060.

Gave up on the mr2 lsd e153 tranny, scored a free 2000 v6 solara e153, bought a quaife lsd for mr2 turbo, dont have time, shop working to install the unit. Made the hybrid axles but when I compared it to the original length on the car, hybrid axles come short in comparison to the hybrid. Is that how it should be?

today I replaced the struts on the liftback/trunk of my Celica. They started to fall on me in cold weather. With the new ones, I only have to lift it about halfway and it raises the rest of the way on its own.
