Finally changed out the battery in the winter car, very slow start this morning. I started thinking back and thought 'oh I got like 4-5 years out of this battery that's pretty average' but then I thought harder and no it's more like 8 years old now so it did pretty good. I think it was bum from the start though because it always cranked slow with it but it always started so I just figured I had a slow starter on the car or something. Popped the new one in and after sitting out getting cold all afternoon at work I went out and it started up faster than it used to in the summer! I also checked my spark plugs which I had been meaning to do, I pulled #2 and it was past done, the other 3 were pretty done. I gapped them back down to near what they should be and ordered a fresh set of my favorite, Denso Iridium TT, for Monday from one of our suppliers. With the gapped plugs and fresh battery it's all ready for the cold snap that's over now. Just need another pair of tires and it'll be all ready for the snow that's done for the year. Getting it all fixed up right on time!

"Slightly" defective products are the worst, especially those that work for the most part >.>

Amen to that, makes tracking down the problem all the more troublesome when you can't be sure what the problem is exactly. I hate to shotgun parts at problems, especially $100 batteries which is why I waited so damn long to replace it. The spark plugs though, that's all on me for not keeping better track of them. They looked fine a couple years ago lol.

Oh yeah, the Firebird is FINALLY done. Just needs washed and commissioned to sell. Then buy Miata and be happy.

Also, brother ended up getting just shy of 20,000 miles on those Federal 595RS-R which is surprising. That and he used them year round, even more surprising. Could squeeze more out of the set had it not been for a bolt taking out the passenger rear.

Hopefully getting the Miata on the road this weekend too. I wanted to have that done already but we’ve gotten quite a bit of snow since I bought it. Based on the conversation I had with Brigette last night, I don’t think I own a Miata anymore. I think it just became hers... I can’t have anything fun.

After it's cleaned, half the car is dust covered even after he drove it to work 4 or 5 times. Plus it's a '96 so you'll be disappointed.

That and I wanted a hardtop, which are rare enough as it is but especially LS1 Firebirds as no Trans Ams had them(except one show car I think) and the Formula only had them until '00 if I recall correctly.

Meh, I can't wait to get rid of it for another Miata so I can perpetuate the chick car stigma.
