Hi Folks,

My Gen 6 has just failed it's MOT on emissions. The co was 0.33 and should be less than 0.3. Plugs and filter seem OK, any suggestions?

Cheers.

RJ.

change your oxygen sensors on your header. There should be two on the header. I bought a one wire universal sensor and a two wire universal sensor from NGK/NTK for i believe for 25 dollars each from sparkplugs.com. Better than buying OEM i would suggest cause they are hella expensive. MAybe about 110 for the sensor from toyota. You gotta splice em with your old sensor connectors. Jus letting you know that it is biotch to take off the old ones from the header. Hopefully you should pass your emissions.

Thanks guys. I have found out that the Celica does still have a mixture screw that I could temporarily adjust to get me through the test. Anyone know where I can find it? confused.gif
Cheers, RJ

Ps. I have poured some injector cleaner into the tank and run for 200 miles or so.

Sorted,

Changed the air filter, cleaned the Lambda sensor in Cellulose thinners, emptied a bottle of fuel line cleaner into the tank and then thrashed the thing to within an inch of it's life along the local Motorway. Result, a reading of 0.1 CO compared to 0.33.
