Now that school is done and the weather is nice I'm planning on working on cleaning up my engine bay. Can anyone recommend what I should use to clean it up? Also, what precautions should I take to make sure I dont get water on anything that shouldnt get wet?

what i do is, i go to kragen and get one of those cans of engine degreaser spray (looks like brake cleaner)..
I warm up my engine. let the engine cool down a bit.. and spray that stuff on places where there is alot of grease and dirty built up.. let it sit for 5 mins.. then use a pressure washer on the engine. things to keep away from fues box. distributor. alternator. fuel injector.. pretty much anything electrical. while i am at it i wash the undercarrage of my car. then i let the heat of the engine dry the water.. after 30mins i can drive the car agian.. I've done this many times and nothing has broke yet.. |

you can get anything and everything in the engine bay wet, just it will be really boggy until its dry. But definitly stay away from the battery, you dont want to cross the terminals...

Simple Green is an amazing degreaser. you spray it on, hose it off, and it takes almost everything with it.
