I used to have that dream. Then i got my curren and i still had the same dream so i also got the GT4. Both silvers.
For the people that talk down the GT4s: You have to undrestand that for people in all countries (except the U.S) straight line speed is not that important. Dont forget that the GT4 was made for WRC and not quartermiles. For the last couple of days i have been driving my Curren and you know what guys, the difference is so fundamental that unless you have driven it you can't really talk about it. Yeah I dream of a GT4. Atm you can't import them here, and none of the 50 odd cars in Australia are up for sale. I was thinking of swapping a 3s into my ZR, but now I think I'll just do a bit to the 5s and wait until 2009 to import one under the 15 year rule...

I also am living the 'dream'.
The GT-Four is an excellent machine, although I can't really compare as I have never driven or had a ride in a GT or ST. Everything I have read suggests that basically they are totally different cars - just with the same shell. |

At the end of the day if you cant have something, you dont get it.
I feel for you guys n galls that want a GT4, but cant have one I guess as the saying goes "**** happens" I have grown attached to my 4 so much, Im getting rodgered up the arse on fuel cost, and if the goverment turned around and said "You cant have that car anymore". I would seriously consider selling up, and moving to warmer climes. With my 4 "A bit heavy" I hear you sigh But I likes what I likes and life is so short. I know this isn't changing the fact that, at this time you cant have a gt4 enjoy what you have, life's pointless if you dont. And if you still cant get your head around it make it so you CAN have what you like I would move if i was getting oppressed and told I cant have my 4. Its only a fekin car! (a nice fekin car) I admit But compared to most cars on the road it's looked after. it has no "bit's" hanging off of it it has an MOT.(been checked and passed road worthy test's) It has road tax.(payment for using the roads) It is covered if it breaks down.(I pay to remove car from highway) We love our cars, we PAY for our cars, in many different ways. yes I would defo move cars are a big part of my life, so I guess I would have to If any of you ever come to the uk, I would be glad to take you for a spin, This post has been edited by Turbotone: May 20, 2004 - 1:44 PM -------------------- ....'SilverMachine'.... ^^^ Hell yea As I said I'm prepared to wait 5 years or more for one.
Nup. Our import laws cover all countries.. Sadly if a car has been sold locally (there were 78 6th gen alltracs sold here I think) it can't be imported. Period. It sux. |

(till i have my first celica st 182 in 1997) and finally i did. i have. i love my car. gt four is very rearly found. thats what i like with this car. it takes me to an other world when i drive it. car is my daily drive. it worths every pound that i pay for petrol. ( considerin in cyprus petrol is 4 times expensive then in usa)
and one think.. never compare four wheel with two... keep dreamin one day you may have too.. dreamin is everything... This post has been edited by tufy: Jun 9, 2004 - 2:14 AM -------------------- |

a good way to gauge exactly how different a GT4 is from a GT/ST is to go and drive a 2gen eclipse GS, then drive a 2gen eclipse GSX.
i also test drove an alltrac. AWD makes for a completely different car. the handling, the ride, and the gearing are all different, among many other things. -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition
