Is there a way to set up our cars suspension to something like a rally car uses. I don't know what kind of setup it would actually be but i think it could be kinda cool especially with all the fuqin potholes around here. Those cars handle great and think it would work better for ****ty in town driving. If I had Koni Yellows would I be able to get this kind of set up? What springs would make this setup work, if it is possible? I hope someone knows what i mean by a rally set up cause i dont know how else to describe it. I just cant stand the feeling when I drive my car over like 30 feet of potholes and crap every 10 minutes, it feels like car abuse or something...

get some airshocks or something... give her a caddy feel... rally suspensions are $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and not worth it if you arent actually going to rally them.

There is a new Z06 coming out in 2004 or 2005...
This corvette on the speed channel had some air ride suspension or something better than a caddy..it went over hills and the body practicallyr remained flat, it was amazing. |

Dude, corvettes are awsome. I had an 86 back in the day, and this is my favorite story:
I was going 55 behind a big truck on the highway. We started on a hill and the guy got down to about 45 until I found a place to pass him. By the time I was where I could cut back in front of him, I looked down and was going 96 mph. That's up 51mph in no time at all. Plus, you could sut the tires loose at 45mph! |

corvettes have magnetic shocks now that are controlled by a computer, i bet that's what you're thinking of.
well, the rally setup is a good idea, in theory, but you have to understand, these cars are rebuilt after every race. no suspension can take that kind of abuse again and again over time with no damage. what is good for rally isn't necessarily good for the street. what a rally setup offers is more play in the suspension, and ability for the engine and tranny to handle the conditions. but in order for that to happen, it would make sense that you'd have to raise the car a bit to give the setup the room it needs to work. also, i'm inclined to believe that a suspension setup like this is not necessarily more comfortable for the driver or passengers. rally drivers get tossed around a LOT, that's why they are wearing helmets and multi-point harnesses. they aren't wearing helmets in case they crash, it's so they don't get concussions when their head slams into some part of the interior after a rough landing. in my experience, most suspension upgrades make you feel the bumps more, regardless of the arena of your motorsport.
