hey everyone, most of you know me as Lowclass21 from celica.net . i completed my swap to a 2nd gen jdm 3sgte early last summer. however after completion i noticed that i could take my driver side axle and where it enters the gt transmission i can wiggle it about 1/4 of an inch in every direction. it was fine for a bit but on the way to nopi it got unbearable. i made it there and back but i believe its the diffs. i think they are pretty shot, lol. i was going to start searching for a limited slip diff for the gt tranny but figured i better check with everyone first to find my best alternative. i want traction!!! please let me know any ideas and prices also where to find them. thanks sooo much

st185 axels wouldnt work at all cause they are bolt ons. the 6th gen axels just click in place.
if you got new axels during your swap, then there is a good chance the place you bought them from gave you wrong ones. i had this happen like 4 times to me when i was doing my swap. -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

Yeah nice custom work - when I did my swap I actually had issues with the drivers side and it led to the bellhousing cracking and breaking thus, on the highway, I was left without any transmission fluid in the tranny.
BTW: Where in NY are you? I'm about an hour from the city. This post has been edited by Supersprynt: Jan 26, 2005 - 9:30 AM -------------------- |

Can't say if they have LSD or not. They do have slightly different gearing for the 1MZ... Regardless, swapping in one of these trannies (E153), requires modification/customization of the tranny mount and axles. The trannies are physically pretty different. I believe the MR2 trannies also require modification to the shift linkages... can't say for the Solara tranny.
