If you try doing a lambo door conversion it won't look right cause the doors would have to come up and out since our fenders are't made for lambo doors.

just to clarify. gullwing doors are not on lambos. those are scissor doors. gullwings are like on a delorean. -------------------- 1994 Lexus ES300

yes, but that site is not offering the kit yet for a celica, and if it does eventually, you can bet it will be for the 7th gens only. to most of the import world, there is no celica other than the new ones. -------------------- 1994 Lexus ES300

Toyota did a limited period manufacture of a car called the "sera", its capturing feature was the cross between the
"gullwing" and scissor type doors, shame about the rest of the car though, not my style but those doors would have looked good on the celica. Here's a pic This post has been edited by jontechie: Apr 9, 2003 - 4:54 PM |

Those "kits" your talking about are $1200. Suicide doors on that camaro look awful, and plus there jsut that, suicide doors. Theres a reason they stopped making them, so unless u have a show car only, i wouldnt recommend that. If your going to get real lambo doors, count on rolling ur fender, and when the doors are down, its not going to look right. Delorean doors on the celica just arent possible.

of course delorean doors are Impossible, there is no window frame. the custom work to get delorean doors would be insane

a targa top will run you about 5 grand just for labor, i'd say add another 2-3 grand for parts, and it's going to kill your handline. the car will flex like anything. the doors would be cheaper, altho, you will have to have your fenders rolled, which will look terrible. -------------------- 1994 Lexus ES300

7-8 grand is insane for a targa top - your looking closer to 2 grand buy the time its all done - I was just talkin to my friend with the body shop my car is sittin at about this 2 days ago - think were gonna attempt it this winter while my car is put away - we estimated that it would cost about 300$ in parts to do the conversion, not counting labor. For you to just go into a local body shop and get it done it should be around 2 grand - ne more than that and you might as well invest in some K-y gel -------------------- 99 project version 3.0.. hello SEMA 2010 =) |
