Ok well first off isn't it a known fact that N/A cars with no big mods only gain anywhere from minimum of 2 horsepower to 15 horsepower MAX from a header???If anyone thinks there going to get close to 20 horsepower just out of a header then they're probably wrong. I have 2 friends with Honda's and a friend with a Probe and i know they didn't get 15 horse from their header. The more mods you have the more horse you will get out of the rest of your mods (ex: a car that's N/A would get less horse out of an exhaust then a turbo car right?) So any Celica without big engine work (other than I/E) wouldnt even be expected to get a huge gain from minimal changes like a header. Am i wrong on this? In my opinion if someone is offering to make a product no one else does, we should give them a chance. They are a company!!! Some joe-smoe isn't play a big joke on us, they have a real history to back them up. Every product has their flaws. I would rather wait another 3 weeks and get a good product then get a rushed product now. However, Tuan you need to do a better job answering the questions everyone has. We at 6GC.net have many concerns when it comes to our babies and are very anxious and hopefully you can understand that (seeing as though you are in customer relations and deal with people like us all the time!!!!) Thanks

Noone said anything about getting 15-20 HP from a header? Where did you get that from?
I would be surprised if this header even gain 6-8HP. Yes, they are a company with a background that doesn't run dynos on there products. This post has been edited by hs2g: Feb 26, 2005 - 2:56 AM |

I'm not very confident with this company after the reports I've been reading about their quality. I'm sorry, but I would like to be removed from the group buy on this. I don't want to spend the money for it, spend more to have it installed, then have a problem with the weld crack and need to spend even more to reinstall my old one.
I'm glad that the company is making products for the 6th gen. I just wish they had a better rep. -------------------- |

Yes, they are a company with a background that doesn't run dynos on there products. There has been one or two people that said that they think a header is worth 10-15 horse. QUOTE(madmods @ Feb 23, 2005 - 6:13 AM) I want a header, but I want to see a dyno run versus stock. You can buy a header if designed improperly with less horsepower then stock. I'm not trying to diss the company at all, but a dyno run is important. Do you want to fork out money for 1 or 2 horsepower? To me a good header is worth 10-15 hp There's one example^^^ Thats why i said dont expect to get close to 20 horsepower (15 being close to 20). I just didn't want other people to assume that it is "normal" for that kind of gain with a header. I agree that the gain won't be more than 6-8, but that would be a better assumption then 15. And i also agree that it is odd for company not to have dynoed product when there making it because there is so muh demand (meaning they know it will sell). |

And yes, when he installed it maybe he put too much pressure on the flex pipe that's why it cracked. Anyhow, we are sending him a replacement. |

The longer this header buy goes, the more questions pop up. The latest ones are doozies.
Not to be a pain, but Tuan, you really need to address the concerns raised on other sites -- you seem to have disappeared from them. This link is posted on Hotshot's website, along with an accusation that ssautochrome is stealing their designs. The commentary on this page is technical, precise, and damming on material choices -- like using both stainless and mild steel -- manufacturing quality and customer service. From celicatech, courtesy of Slvrblt: QUOTE I just looked up SS Auto Chrome on the better business bureau and they have had 6 complaints against SS Auto Chrome in the last 12 months. The specifics of the complaints was not given on the site. http://www.bbbenc.org/commonreport.html?bid=3001613 Before people start handing their money over, these issues need to be resolved -- along with the missing dyno numbers. It's not as if there aren't other choices -- Hotshot has its 5SFE headers out, Genie makes one for about the same price as ssautochrome, and it's possible to use one from the 3SGE engines -- all 4-2-1 designs. Tuan, you out there? |

This is sad. After finally reading all thirteen pages of this post (was bored), its beggining to look slightly grim, that ssautochrome might screw some of you guys over. I know im the soft voice on these forums, but still, its been how long now, 1 month, and not even a dyno. truthfully, i myself am not going to bash the company because they are only trying to help you guys out(and yeah a month isnt a lot of time to make these available to you guys but testing and such, yes), but at the same time, looking at the facts, you have to start to think "hmm maybe they might try to sell us a piece of crap header".............i dont know......i must just be pessimistic or somn.......peace out all

I really don't like the posts about this company "trying to help us out." They aren't trying to help us, they're just trying to make money. That's what most companies do. Their products obviously aren't quality. I don't know how anyone could stay in this buy right now. If they were a creditted company with no dyno results, then okay. If they weren't creditted, but had dyno results, then maybe ok. If they aren't creditted, no dyno, and bad reputation, not okay. Seriously, I don't care if it is a header, if it's junk it will only cause more problems than it's worth, and so far they have yet to prove at all that it's not junk, it's just cheap.

Ok well I have a few questions that i feel "we" at 6gc.net would like answered. Some have been asked but dodged already. -We still have yet to see any more pics than just the one. Is it possible to get some pics from the bottom or something so we can see how everything hooks up????????????? -Because of reading past reviews of SSAutoChrome I would also like to know what the header will be made of?? You have only said they will be stainless steel "finish". Will the flange and pipe BOTH be MADE of stainless steel? How big will the header pipes be and the downpipe???????????????? -What kind of warranty will there be??????????? -And of course, the famous DYNO question. Can you at least tell us if there WILL or WON'T be a dyno before we give you all of our money?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? -And last, but certianly not least, what kind of time frame are we looking at now? How is production coming? started???????????? Does anyone else have other questions that need to be answered besides these? We appreciate your help Tuan!!!!! |
