i guess my dad's stock went up or something because he asked me earlier today if i wanted to buy a new car (w/o selling my celica) and i was like 'sure! why not!' (he normally doesn't spoil me like this tongue.gif )

anywho, the max he is going to spend is about $19-$20k ... nothing hardcore like an Evo or WRS or RSX .. just something that i can use to drive to school and such. i dont know much about other cars so i am asking for peeps opinions/suggestions. for sure i know i dont want a honda. i'm lookin for a 2door car, nice and has some decent HP.

cars i've looked into:

05 mustang
05 celica

wut else should i be looking at ??

Well it all depends on which angle your going for. Do you want something practical, sporty, luxurious, an SUV. . . Whatever your going to use it for will help decide on what you should go for. If I had that kind of money, I personally would look into a new Solara, but I'm a mid life crisis car kind of guy. Anything Toyota is great though wink.gif

i'm lookin for a mix between sporty and luxurious.. too bad i cant get an IS300 or something *drools* my dad suggests that i should get another celica (i like the newer ones but the butt looks like crap) but i dont want two celicas. the ford mustang looks pretty interesting but not to be racist or sterotypical but i dont see many chinese guys driving a mustang. (maybe i'll start a new trend? haha)

for sure i dont want a family type of car or a huge car .. so no SUV.. i guess something that is somewhat near the size of the celica that we own now..

the s2000 seems alittle too small for me

any other car suggestion peeps?

Well I heard the the Corolla XRS isn't too bad of a car. It is a little on the larger size in comparison to Celica. I hear it does quite well with performance. A Scion tC looks pretty decent too. I'm sure they run a little more than 20 grand, but the new Pontiac GTO's are nice. I'm having a brain fart right now and can't think very well. I'll look around and see what's out there for ya.

Go with solara, corolla XRS, matrix XRS, or scion TC. The XRS's are gonna give you the most hp unless you get a v6 solara. But if you really want a 2 door car then solara or TC, except solara is gonna be more luxurious. Can't go wrong with Toyota, they're too good, too good for their own good.

My other car is a 99 Solara SLE V6 and I absolutely LOVE it. it's spacious, fast, and has a nice clean interior. I'm a huge fan of the Solara. and not to mention a supercharger kit for it if you feel the need to go faster wink.gif

impreza 2.5RS... amazing cars! do great on gas, still decently quick, non-turbo'd (which can be a good thing!), and they look good too, and they're not all that expensive.

thanks for all the input guys/gals. after much thinking (1 day.. haha) i know for sure i'm not going to get another celica.

i looked into the 05 corolla and it looks pretty nice. the impreza 2.5RS is cool too, i checked out the corolla XRS but i dont like the rear end of the car.

imma look into the TC and see wut they have. i guess i cant really choose one until i drive em all huh?

any comments about the new mustang ??

GT-4 for $19k eh? hahah imma have to pass on that.. haha

I am going to have to agree with this guy. I also like the Hyundai Tib GT-V6 6 spd though... They are BY FAR the best looking sub 20k car sold today... or within the last four or five years...

meh I don't like how the tC drives, no offense to LatinKraze. why don't you buy a slightly used higher end car? an is300 is very attainable for 20k
